I see you don´t even try to understand what difference there is between war and a gang shootout.maturin said:

I want more blizzard type games... I think there has yet to be a game they have released which I haven't enjoyed.
Even more often, you shoot to supress the enemy. There´s about 16.000 rounds fired for one killed insurgent, and in Vietnam, it was a staggering 50.000.maturin said:More often you shoot to make noise.Death God said:There's nothing to war. you shoot to kill usually, and you try and hope your side wins. On a more serious note, I do find this current trend of war shooters to be quite boring. I am not and never have been a big COD fan and Medal of Honor (all of them) left me feeling cold. I guess I can handle Bad Company but even then, not really the muts nuts.
Noise is suppression. When a bullet goes over your head it gives off a loud crack and it's effing scary.Chrinik said:Even more often, you shoot to supress the enemy. Only when it is still supersonic. Also, having a bullet impact near you is even scarier. And the bigger the bullet was, the bigger the scarefactor.maturin said:Noise is suppression. By the time your average rifle bullet is subsonic, you can dodge it by doing tai chi moves.Chrinik said:Only when it is still supersonic. Also, having a bullet impact near you is even scarier. It can still go over your head and it can still not make a crack that is scary, and you can probably not dodge it because you can´t see it coming anyway (unless you have extreme twitch reflexes), it is still somewhere around 300m/s.maturin said:By the time your average rifle bullet is subsonic, you can dodge it by doing tai chi moves.
By the time the round from an AK-47 goes subsonic, it's been in the air for a full second and has traveled 500 meters. A second is a really long time, and if you saw the muzzle flash, it would be quite possible to drop to the ground in time. Of course, that's not going to happen much. The part that does matter is that if you were running at even a leisurely pace, you would cover 15 feet by the time the bullet got there. It takes quite a confident marksman with good sights to lead a target like that.Chrinik said:It can still go over your head and it can still not make a crack that is scary, and you can probably not dodge it because you can´t see it coming anyway (unless you have extreme twitch reflexes), it is still somewhere around 300m/s.maturin said:By the time your average rifle bullet is subsonic, you can dodge it by doing tai chi moves.
Well, there's that too.maturin said:More often you shoot to make noise.Death God said:There's nothing to war. you shoot to kill usually, and you try and hope your side wins. That's the basics of it and that's all it'll ever really be.
I said you cannot dodge the bullet because you cannot see an (on average) 6x15mm lead-in-copper wrapped slug flying through the air at 300 m per second. No human has good enough eyes to pick up a bullet that flies at him, no matter the speed. Well, when you look down range, maybe, but not when it is coming at you and you aren´t prepared for it. I did not say that it is impossible to evade fire at long distances when you see the shooter firing at you...that is what watching your sectors is for...altho, you might not notice being fired at unless you see the shooter...the small puff of smoke coming out of the muzzle isn´t gonna grab your attention at longer distances, and the sound...well the bullet is supersonic for a reason XDmaturin said:
