Warcraft 4...maybe?

There's a rumour floating around that WC4 may be officially announced some time this year.

So...who else is in favour of this happening? Or better yet, anybody have some info that isn't based on rumours?

Warcraft 4 is probably gonna happen at some point. They'll probably make Warcraft 4 related to Cataclysm or somethin. Or set up some new areas ready for WoW2 or future expansions.

OT: I think it'd be cool, but Warcraft 3 has such a colossal community and insane number of maps made for it, I don't think it'd be feasible. Nobody would want to leave Warcraft 3.

Fuck yes I would like another warcraft RTS outside of starcraft and the original Dawn of War I have never really played another RTS series with a fufilling campaign mode. DoW2 can go fuck itself.

Personally I think that right about now Blizzard won't work on another game. They've got Cataclysm coming out soon and there's gonna be issues to iron out with that (talents, balancing, glitches etc.), are working on Diablo III and they've also got Heart of the Swarm in the cooker.

I think that would be spreading their studio a bit thin.

See, Warcraft 3 had a story, and World of Warcraft followed that story and added to it. Warcraft 4 is going to need to fit itself into that story, which I doubt it will be able to do seemlessly.

Completely wrong. Blizzard has actually stated that they want to make WC4, they just have other things to work on at the moment. At that time, the "other things" were their new MMO, SC2, Diablo 3, and Cataclysm.

Now that SC2 and Cata are done, I'm fairly certain that the rumor of WC4 is true.

Warcraft 4 isn't going to happen/ or it won't happen for an insanely long time. And even if they do make it, it will probably have to be set far far into the future of azeroth or risk clashing lore/herowise with WoW.

Pretty much this. How would WC 4/5 fit into the storyline? Since WoW is always expanding the storyline with updates, another RTS taking place after WoW would limit the material for updates. Prequels on the other hand...

I don't think it will (also considering that WoW is WC4) but I really do HOPE it will

Sorry, but what lore? All of the important personalities getting murdered by random and nameless people?
At least the RTSs had some pretty cool lore

There are actualy rumors about a WC 4 after they finish the SC 2 expansions.

But I don't know about this rumor.

I just hope to god that they ignore the WoW story (or edit it.. a lot) and make the story a lot better then in Starcraft 2.

?Its being considered for multiple platforms like the 360 and PS3, but DS has actually been started on.

This year. I doubt it. Next one after, possibly but then again they do a Half life with it. Leave everyone waiting for it. Create loads of games before the new Half Life. When people start to get bored throw in some Half Life art work and possibly gameplay footage. Rinse and repeat.
