So I noticed a lot of people play warhammer of some sort and I was wondering which army you guys prefer.

I am a Tyranid and Empire player.

I only read the books, but I think the Eldar are the shit and i actually find Chaos Marines to be rather frightening.

I prefer Eldar for their lore and looks. I must admit I also have a soft spot for the Imperial Guard after reading Fifteen Hours and the Guant's Ghosts novels. Oddly, my army is guard but I plan on getting a small Eldar strike force as well.

Necrons are the creepiest so quiet when they rip molecules from your body. Chaos are a little insane.

Imperial guard! THE HAMMER OF THE EMPEROR AND THE FIST OF TERRA ITSELF! AVE IMPERATOR!

On a lighter note, I find the amount of heresy in this thread to be disturbing...

You poor misguided whiteshield. The Eldar are but dust before the might of the guard, their xenos witchery will no more save them from the mercy of the emperor then will their evil witchery. Also, you find the forces of Chaos frightning? Have you not met the Commissarat?

Seriously, the imperial guard are what make the game worth playing for me, you may be a 10 foot tall super soldier, a millennia old Eldar warlock or a giant dinosaur/bug/Tyranid thing but my men armed with nothing more than a flashlight and a flak vest will stand and die and fight for their planet, regiment and God Emperor. Of course the Commissar with the bolt pistol helps :p.

I used to have a bitching all nurgle foot army in the last edition, very hard to use but by god it was fun.

I only read the books, but I'm a fan of the Orks.

"All right, boyz, here's da plan: Win. And if we lose, it's your fault... because you didn't follow da plan."

Here's a pretty cool English to Ork translator:

Hmm, the link doesn't seem to be loading for me.

The best part about Orks is to apply their logic in real life. For instance, I was once talking to some friends who were going to race some model cars, and I recommended that they paint them red to improve their chances of winning. They gave me a bewildered look, and asked "Why"? With a look on my face that showed that I was confused that they needed an explanation, I said "Because it makes the car go faster."

HAHAHAHAHA!!! WIN!!!!

Link doesn't work for you? I tried it now on this site and it works fine. Anyway, let me see if I can navigate it for you....

Found it. Go to http://www.war-europe.com/ and then click past the add, you'll find the link at the top of the screen. From there a list of menu options on the left hand side. Click on "Universe" and then it will open up to reveal sub-menus. Click on "Orcaniser" and have fun!
Ah, there we go, it's working now.

I played Space Marines before but I sort of stopped, was too expensive.

Thinking of jumping back in as Orks or Necrons. Maybe Tau.

It's all good! Always glad to help people when it comes to Warhammer.
Alright then, what should I focus on with my IG army when fighting Marines? I'm feeling things with a decent AP and a few Leman Russ tanks but I am not positive. I'm new to the table top.

I had a half decent chaos force assembled and decently painted but recently sold it as i never seemed to really use them. I had eldar before that but grew tired oftrying to give every miniture the detail it deserved. The 2 scariest races from a realistic stand point would have to be the nids or necrons. Especially if the void dragon is on mars being worshiped by the mechs lol.

Right, I'm a Necron player but I do know a little bit of Imperial Guard tactics. Space Marines and the Imperial Guard are like opposites. Imperial Guard have a lot of weak troops but they come in a lot of numbers while they boast the most powerful tanks available in the Imperium, so it's basically considered that troops are there to protect the tanks.

Space Marines on the other hand boasts some of the best troops the Imperium has to offer, but average tanks, with the Dreadnought being up there as the best the Space Marines have to offer.

My advice? Have either a lot of troops with plasma weapons that have the strength to take out Space Marine warriors or a lot of tanks. Or specialise in powerful troops that can hopefully cut them down at range before they do that to you.

The way I see it, with my untrained Imperial Guard eye, is have your troops equipped with Plasma weapons, and lots of troops with lots of these weapons, or have a few Lemon Russ tanks. Their fucking badass.
Thanks, that about what I was thinking. I need to dish out some cash for an infantry platoon to protect my Leman Russes. I also have some Ratlings and Karskins for a punch with infantry. I can't wait to make those Dark Angels cry.

ha i have the same pictures saved to my comp lol I can only hope thats how badass he will look although he'd be hard to field seeing as he makes tanks look like little bugs so maybe they'd make him for "epic"?
