All the Imperium knows that the Children of Sanguinius stand first among the Emperor's chosen!

The Sons of Russ and the Lion are inferior to us!
Sanguinius that tart? Hah! We were too busy Torching Prospero to be able to come back to Holy Terra!

Torching Prospero on HORUS' orders, I believe...way to defy the Emperor's original order to simply apprehend Magnus...

Sanguinius held the gate of the Imperial Palace single-handedly, allowing the other Legions to regroup and rally. Not to mention slaying the Bloodthirster Lord Ka'Bandha in single combat.

http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Sanguinius

Behold one of the greatest champions of the Emperor during the Heresy
Pfft we Wolves are overly efficient lets just ignore the fact we made an enemy of the Thousand Sons when they weren't but hey we Wolves naturally hate Psykers! :p

You killed an Entire legion of psykers? Nice work! May the lion be with you brother.

HAHAHAHA Didn't sagunius DIE? If I remember correctly unlike the lion and the wolf
Aye...Sanguinius did die...but neither the Wolf nor the Lion fought Horus personally...

Sanguinius sacrificed his like to weaken Horus' defenses enough to allow the Emperor's final attack to fell the Betrayer...

But to answer to you question literally...yes, Sanguinius died...

I shall not show any further disrespect towards Wolf though...he is amongst the greatest sons of the Emperor...if slightly mis-guided

The Lion was just a paranoid nut, however...
Before the heresy I believe the Dark Angels were the most efficent legion. Paranoid about what...that half his legion would betray him! He was not paranoid merely being cautious as you should expect no less from the finest strategist in the entire universe.

All of the Legions had extensive victories, though I believe the best legion Pre-Heresy were the Ultramarines, as much as I'm loathe to admit...

I hold Sanguinius and Sigismund in the highest regard, however...though Sigismund wasn't a Primarch, he still formed the Black Templars Chapter, who, imo, are one of the most bad-ass Chapters in 40k...next to the Blood Angels of course

Well, given the incredible restriction of Space Marine numbers, I really doubt Space Marines would be playable. Still, I wonder how they're going to pull it off since Warhammer is all about the blood lust and fighting but good luck get any of the sides in 40k to consider allying with each other.

Still, love to play IG. Or maybe an Inquisition Storm Trooper.

SM would have to be playable otherwise it wouldn't sell as well. The best selling army and most popular is still the SM. Games Workshop isn't going to shoot themselves in the foot by not making them playable. Not to mention not all chapters follow the Codex Astartes restriction in fact the Space Wolves are still legion sized since their divergent chapter didn't survive due to "bad geneseed".

Orks would do pretty well. Yes, the Spess Mahreens sell the best but, lore wise, are so incredibly powerful and even those who ignore the 1000 only to a chapter rule are still comparatively small due to how hard it is to make Space Marines. I could see maybe introduce Space Marines as a sort of battlefield ally, something that can be called upon in specific locations to sweep in and just cause mass devastation.

Cajun is correct...though there are restrictions on chapter-size...I can't think of any Chapter that follows the Codex Astartes to the tee (Aside from the Ultra-noobs...but they really don't count anyway)

You've got chapters like the Space Wolves and Black Templars that are huge...pretty much the Pre-Heresy Legion size...

In the great crusade Lion el'Johnson held the record for the highest amount of planets taken.

Another thing, I AM NOT PLAYING AS THE F*CKING BLOOD RAVENS.

I don't care if they give (seemingly) every game developer wood, I am sick of them, let us pick our chapter. I would rather be an Ultramarine, or Black Templar. Not always limited to the same damn chapter again and again.

It's not even that hard, make a few pages with info for each chapter, make a few different option for different chapters appearance (norse looking for Space Wolves etc.), a few other things like Battle Cries or whatever and you're set to play as your favorite chapter, or whatever depending on race.

Make imperial guard NPC squads controlled by a player.
EDIT: And space marine could be something achieved after reaching the Imp level cap...

Would the different chapters need different starting areas? If so, it's likely you'll be wearing red again.

I found it awesome as an RTS, kept me glued from start to finish. I better just not know about the mmo.

I don't realy think the 40k universe would lend itself to MMOs, unless it was about the smaller scale warfare, such as Necromunda, fights like in Dark Heresy, where the Inquisition pursue relentless, small numbers of dangerous foes. That could be possible.

despite my outburst of hailing the emperor, I'm actually a Commorragh kinda guy. Though I highly, highly doubt the Dark Eldar will be added to the MMO when it comes out.

Shame that Games Workshop is basically just selling all it's products on the virtual market to stimulate it's tabletop market. Shame... now everybody who plays WH40K or WHFB (tabletop) will be associated with no life mmo players :(.

And why istn't it? You DO play with real people you actually meet you know. Also, why do people find miniature wargaming a nerd hobby?
