Me and my buddy were talking about Warhammer 40k vs SW *me goin WH40k* and Ive deduced that there's no possible way for any faction of SW to take even a single planet against any faction of WH40k. Equally, no way any SW faction can stave off a *small* invasion from any faction of WH40k.

What are your thoughts on this?

Well imo only the eldar could compete tech wise with SW. IMO I think in space the empire has them beat for sure. On the ground wel.... I don't know maybe they could win. But I think jedi are more powerful then 40k physkers.

I'm not sure but I don't think 40k has an equivalent of the Death Star or LightSabers. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Warhammer 40k is made by Games-workshop, simple as that, star wars wins. I hate games workshop, why? Just visit their online store and you'll see...

Oh it does. Not only are the space ships massive, they also have huge walking mechs that are basically the equivalent of Death Stars on land.

Also who needs lightsabers when you have chain swords.

Anyways I don't think anyone from SW could stand up to the W40k factions. Orkz alone could probably take down the entire Star Wars universe.

WAAAAAAAAAGH

While I do love 40k the star wars fanatic in my begs to differ, as has already been said the empire has the death star which is capable of blowing up entire planets aswell as their huge fleet of star destroyers, sure storm troopers wouldn't stand a chance against space marines but when you have at-ats it doesn't really matter. The empire, augmented by a few sith would be able to take on all comers. *Nerd rant over*

I see your AT-AT and Death Star, and raise you a Warlord Titan and an Exterminatus.

Yeah okay a warlord would decimate an at-at, but there are only like what seven of those left so eventually they'd wear them down, as for the exterminatus well I suppose we're moot there.

SW has one lowly deathstar while the Imeprium of man have hundreds of ships like this destroying planets on a daily basis. The power sword is the equivilant of a lightsaber. SW lazors shoot at sub-sonic speeds while IG las-rifles shoot at light speed. The empire has nothing on the Imperial Navy of 40k. 40k has more guns, better guns, bigger guns, and cooler guns. a class B psyker is said to snap a titan in 2 with a flick of his wrist and send entire armies at eachothers throats in a fit of bloodlust with a mumble from his lips. 40k has titans. 40k has more psykers then jedi that are stronger then jedi. LOLOL TYRANIDS LOLOL. LOLOL ORKS LOLOL. Space marine armor can resist lasors. Space marines have never been defeated by a bunch of glorified care-bears *cough cough EWOKS cough cough*.

The problem with the Warhammer 40k universe is that everything is over the top. And sometimes its not even worth it going to much detail...

Im a big starwars fan but 40k would win hands down.

AT-AT vs a Imperator Titan or even a Warlord, no contest.

Thunderhawk vs an X-wing.

Imperium ships are huge easily the match for a star destroyer.

While the empire maybe pretty big i dont think it can match the 1,000,000 planets of the Imperium of man.

The empire has the worst ground units ever (stormtroopers and their "one hit kill" armor, plus AT-AT have nothing on the tanks of IG) and the IG are notorious for their seemingly infinant amount of troops, ships, and resources (if it doesnt work, throw more men at it) while its been noted that every battle lost in SW seems to destroy progress made by that faction thus far.

This isnt a VS thread, I know 40k is over the top, i was just wondering if there was a loop hole that enabled the SW universe to even have a chance.

Blowing up an entire planet is not a means of taking over..It just destroys it..

In 40k you have the races like Tyranid which will wipe out any other species on a planet, or Necron which have an equally devestating result when they plan a vacation, and this is accomplished without a huge round death star that resembles a grey golf ball....Infact any one of the WH40k races (with the exception of the pansy eldar who would probably succumb to the "force") could easily overcome anything the Empire and co. could put onto the ground

I even believe the WH40k scene have space ships?? For whatever unknown purpose...Probably only for the board game(s)

As we've already established, any form of blowing up a planet just makes the conquering part no longer possible..Perhaps send in the ewoks? They seemed to do a fairly good job at bringing down stupidly large and much better trained enemies..

Sort of a pointless thread though, it's quite clear that star wars is a very PG 13 version of space and planet conquering..Anyone who sincerely believes they could take any 40k race are severely deluded (or simply have no knowledge of 40k)
