I once had a single Nob take out two Hammerheads, two entire Kroot squads, and a Crisis suit. A lucky break for that one Nob to outlive his entire war-band of Nobs by surviving the MASSIVE Tau ranged battery to be sure, but damn was it fun :D
I had a Chapter Master go through Belial, 5 terminators, 16 Plague Bearers and this nasty Khorne Greater Deamon thingy. That was a gooood game.

What? me? Noooo, never. Im.. way too busy bashing Chaos and Tau, ya' know? *chews on some orc thats been stuffed into a way too smal tau armor* Shee? Thatff totally tau meet. Tafftefff a bit fftuffy, too. *chews*
Dispite the fact I've been fighting the Tyranid for the past two days on DoW2, I think I can get behind a race that's intent on consuming all life via nomin' :p

I don't thin Tau would be too tasty, too much metal bits and all stringy.

Anyone here play 40k?

I do and as youve probably guessed from my profile picture I play tau because I love the battle suits and they are absolutely great for trolling with

Also I despise spacemarines
Love nothing more than charging Blood Angels death company into a group of Tau Fire Warriors.... rolling buckets of dice for the assault phase and watching the other guy sigh and remove the entire squad after one round >:)

I can see why you dont like space marines, far too common. I do have quite a fancy for the Tau battlesuits as they make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Railguns are pretty deadly too. Tau models in general look really neat aswell, sleek ships, smooth armour etc.

How long you been a collector for?

An Eldar player myself; I love the fluff, art and play style. I like each part of my army to be exceptionally good at what its supposed to do, even if it can't do anything else.

However, for a change I have recently started a renegade pirate space marine army using the blood angels codex. It is quite refreshing to use an army that doesn't fall over when sneezed at.

I GM the 40k RPG Rogue Trader and my group are a bunch of Cold-trading tech Heretics. I highly reccomend it to any experienced RPG group.

Well, I suppose you're not talking about the PC games, I play those, I have about... 500 of those figures, I had none to play with but I loved putting them together and painting them... And with that I'm a big fan and know pretty much, what is needed atleast o_O

I play Grey knights their old fluff is great, they're an interesting specialised chapter and they kick ass six ways from sunday. Though their new fluff is just ludicrous -.- Lord Kaldor Draigo has apparently been wanderin around /in the warp/ on his own killing everything that moves and occaisionally comes back to help his buddies on the battlefield. Oh and there's now a grey knight who wields a demon sword and they've in general been downstatted but had an equipment upgrade. This succeeds in missing the point entirely in that these are meant to be the hardest of hard space marines but now they're just space marines with shiny armour and a force weapon.

Used to have a tanith first army. Rarely won, turns out imperial guard infantry regiments die alot. Really messed up tau though, all those rail guns become expensive paperwieghts, and I wa sin the habbit of 'cheating' and making use of the services of the imperial assasains when an etherial was present.

I started with Space Marines when I was about four, my brother introduced me to it and I was hooked ever since. I then moved onto Eldar, had a brief stint with Tau and then settled down with the 'Nids. Still have them all as well. My beautiful army kicked my brothers Chaos Nurgle Marines all over our shoddily made table.

I play Imperial Guard, despite Games Workshops best efforts on my first visit to buy 40K.

Me: 'Whats the best unit to start an IG army, command squad or infantry squad?'
GW Employee: 'A Space Marine Tactical Squad!'
Me: 'No, I'm wanting to collect an Imperial Guard army. Is a HQ or Troops better to start with?'
GW Employee: 'The best start to an army is a good dependable unit of troops that can do any job you need it to.'
Me: thinking *finally were getting somewhere*
GW Employee: 'Right, the best thing to start an army with is a Space Marine Tactical Squad.'
Me: 'But I don't want to collect Space Marines (the guy then looked like he owned every puppy in the world and I had just told him that they had all died) I want to collect Imperial Guard.'
GW Employee: 'But they have really good armour, a-and weapons. T-the-th-they're really good!'
Me: 'Alright I'll consider what you said.' (he then perks up)

Two minutes later he grumpily packs some newly bought paint, glue and brushes into a bag that contains something else I just bought: An Imperial Guard Infantry Squad.

I'm a huge fan of the universe. I read the novels, play the video games, and I've been known to spend hours reading factoids on the wiki sites. Hell, I even got my hands on the original Rogue Trader rulebook once just so I could see how much Warhammer 40k has changed (no Chaos, Squats, 80's punk fashion...it certainly was a wild, untamed IP back in the day). Despite my fandom however, I've never played the tabletop game. It just doesn't appeal to me.

I tend to root for the Imperial Guard myself. It takes a special type of courage (or coercion) to fight the various horrors of the Warhammer 40k universe with little more than a flashlight and T-shirt. Their tanks are awesome as well.

I play Space wolves and Imperial guard. So I'm a pure Imperium-player =P

Personally I don't dislike Space marines, but I do think they're waaay too common. =/
