Warlock 2: The Exiled Promises Turtle Wars, Fireballs

A new strategic campaign, co-op modes, and 150 new spells headline the wizardly 4x.

Last year's [a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/reviews/9838-Warlock-Master-of-the-Arcane-Review]Warlock: Master of the Arcane[/a] successfully blended a Civilization-like 4X strategy game with wizards (and anthropomorphic animals in hats). Now, developers Ino-Co Plus are taking another swing with [a href=http://www.paradoxplaza.com/press/2013/10/paradox-interactive-conjures-up-warlock-2-the-exiled]Warlock 2: The Exiled[/a]. Featuring 150 new spells, new multiplayer modes, and a new strategic campaign, Warlock 2 aims to be a game about "cunning, combat, diplomacy, and excessively enormous fireballs."

If the trailer doesn't tip you off, Warlock 2 doesn't take itself too seriously. It involves various wizards battling over "the realm of Ardania, the land that cannot go an entire week without being conquered". Just like Gotham, you'd think that everyone would wise up and just move out. Like before, you'll build cities and manage an empire. Now, you'll have a huge number of new spells to sling across the battlefield, as well as hundreds of mythical beasts to tame.

To make full use of those additions, there's also a new Exile mode, where players fight over various shards of Ardania, adding a new layer of strategy. If you're not wizard enough to do it yourself (or you simply enjoy the company), there's a host of new multiplayer features, ranging from PvP to co-op PvE.

Warlock 2: The Exiled should arrive spring 2014.

Cool. I've just been getting really into the first game since it came out on humble bundle. Has a very master of magic feel.

Gotta say I really enjoyed that trailer, nothing wrong with a bit of light humor to sell your game. :3

With that said, I'm officially looking forward to this game. Sounds like fun, and who doesn't like them some Turtle War?

Nice! I really liked the first game, caught me off guard with its quality. I hope they do a little more balancing this time though, Trolls were stupid overpowered in the first game.

And I'm at least interested in any game where it puts special emphasis on the fact that it features Werewolves with hats.
