my thoughts exactly.Zhukov said:Nah.
I reckon that trailer is completely representative of what the movie will be like.
You do if it's Green Lantern. X men is primarily set on Earth, you don't need that many effects to get an idea of, "this is Earth bitches." A lot of Green Lantern takes place in space and other planets, can't do much on location shooting for that. When a movie uses special effects as much as this movie will, it's understandable why you'd see so many in the trailer.snfonseka said:Actually you don't need A LOT OF 3D effects for a trailer. Take a look at X MEN First Class Trailer as an example.
I think they've generally wasted using Ryan Reynolds as the Green Lantern, they genuinly should have made a Flash movie using him, and he'd have the perfect personality and look to pull it off. (Much as he pulls of Deadpool perfectly too).CrashBang said:It wasn't the effects that made the trailer bad at all, it was the awkward comedy by Reynolds, juxtaposed with the seriousness of speaking the oath etc. It didn't work
Judging from the way he behaves in trailer, he's not playing Hal Jordan, he's playing Kyle Rayner or even Wally West (the third Flash). I know they have free reign, to a degree, but it just doesn't sit right with me
Agreed. Although, the mouth stitching was the most ridiculous idea I've ever seen in a film. What made them think it a wise decision to seal shut the mouth of the 'merc with a mouth'?WolfLordAndy said:I think they've generally wasted using Ryan Reynolds as the Green Lantern, they genuinly should have made a Flash movie using him, and he'd have the perfect personality and look to pull it off. And thus fanrage.cpp was born.Kysafen said:if (trailer == suck && officialStatement == psHAWthemovieisntgoing2SUCKCUZOFTEHTRAILRR)fortunately for fans of the comic,

EDIT:
On second thought, they probably said this as an April fool's joke, and they actually think they're proud of the abomination they spawned.
When I first saw the official trailer my reaction was that it was no way near good as the fan trailer you posted.dmase said:
I wanted to see the trailer full screen and found this video. You wanna see "big budget" effects watch this. Realllllyyy dramatic.
Which they just did. And it's much better.Hungry Donner said:Talking about it doesn't help your cause WB, releasing a new trailer might.
