Why are you trying to give a moral argument to immoral people? It makes me laugh when people just say "Buy it or do without" as if software pirates actually have some shred of honesty.
Which is why i reckon software pirates will pirate the software even if it costs one penny. Lowering the price wont change everyone because ANY price is worse than free. So why would these immoral people pay anything at all when they could pay nothing. The issue is it isnt too much, the issue is that they want it for free. And no company can match "free".

More game companies should do it like Batman Akrham Asylum. Everything worked fine on a pirated version aside from the bat cape and a certain point in the game you could not progress any futher.

Actually, they can match free, if they don't charge people for it.

Advertising, particularly product placement, has become increasingly important, I could well see companies jumping down that route and not being worried about sales at all. I shudder to think what the games/movies would be like, though.

I agree. Games don't even have to advertise to make money; League of Legends is completely free and they get by perfectly fine with just micro transactions to speed things up for the player. For all the time I've played LoL so far I haven't paid anything. If I see something I like though, I wouldn't have a problem doing so...

I think you were letting yourself get robbed once you opted to start buying blue-rays.
The versions I usually buy are Blu-Ray, DvD and Digital Copy. for $30 so I get 3 versions of the movie for 10 dollars a piece and if I have to use this flixster thing I am not going to be pleased with it at all.
This reminded me of something. Couldnt find a clip, so youll have to seetle with a simple quote, from Futurama.

Dr. Zoidberg: Only $14.99 for a two-record set. Two records! Oh, Zoidberg, at last you're becoming a crafty consumer! Hello? I'll take eight!

The only people I know who buy blue-rays do so because they have a PS3. Which gives me the opinion that not many people are exactly rushing into stores to buy blue-ray players. Thus, the DVD is in no immediate danger of being replaced.

Why do you need 3 copies of the same movie? Sure, $10 for a blue-ray is a good deal, but forcing you to pay for the same DVD and $10 for a digital copy? I think thats ridiculous and Id rather acquire digital copies through...other methods. I hadnt known they sell those bundles, but it definitely doesnt make it sound appealing. Im fine with buying DVDs and my other methods for the time being.
1) My dad bought a Blu-Ray player last year so we watch the movies in HD.
2) I am the only person I know with a Blu-Ray player so the DvD works when I go hang out with friends and watch the movies.
3) The digital copy I can watch on my computer when I am traveling and don't have to worry about carrying around the DvD.
