So today i was surfing on the web with my laptop when i suddnely smell something burning. I quickly look arounbd and see smoke coming from my laptop, but only a small bvit of it from where the charger connects to the laptop itself to powers the laptop. Now I dont usually buy extended warranties for my electronics (my ipod was an exception because i know how easy they break) but Then it came to my mind: My laptops warranty ended yesterday. I am not kidding. I went to the manufacturers website and they said to ship[ a box tro my house to pui the laptop in just so they can see whats wrong with it would cost me $20. just for a box. so I was okayu with that. but then, I read below and it said that they would add on costs depending on whats wrong with it. so now im frustrated, and I wanted to know if any of my fellow escapists have ever had something break soon after the warranty ended?

They'll charge you for various bullshit things and the cost just won't end.

Take it to a repair dude instead.

Try taking it to a local laptop repair shop or check the phonebook, might work out to be cheaper (thats if its fixable sorry I'm not a computer person).

Also, my ps3 broke like a month after the warranty ran out - but I traded it in for a slim one and I made sure to get insurance this time!

Oh my dear what terrible luck!
Unless they made purposely made it to break the day after, all for the precious monies.
