Making the Stargate public knowledge. The series would have gone from what it was to a new kind of star trek. Humanity taking its first steps into the great unknown... It would have been amazing.

Instead we got more false gods...
Oh, even better. Really boring false gods who are just basically advanced human televangelism and NO CHARACTER. Seriously, everything out of everybody's mouth on the Ori side could be replaced with DERP and be more interesting. And the great and wonderful message we take from that is that heavily-enlightened and evolved energy beings are all pretencious dickheads, and so are their enemies.

But I digress.

Here's a wasted opportunity: Not cancelling Megas XLR. Oh yes. Went there with a vengeance.

Mirrors Edge: A very interesting looking game which had a generalised lack of proper development- both technical and artistically. The game play mechanics could have done with further refinement (how about making it actually possible to disarm someone when not in slowmotion?) and the setting, narrative and characters, whilst looking very promising on paper, didn't live up to their full potential.

I still liked the game though, but i felt from playing Mirrors Edge there was a lot of wasted potential. I really hope that Mirrors Edge 2 can live up to what the game series can achieve.

DC Comics New 52 on so many levels. It's marketing was laughable, it pushed for quantity over quality, the reboot was unnecessary, and the majority of its creative talent has either quit or let go due to the choke chain of their editorial staff. I would call this a failure of style over substance but it even fucks up in the style department too.

I love Game of Thrones, but there are many occasions where you can see the limitations of a TV budget negatively affecting it, especially if you've read the books. For example, they avoided filming an entire battle scene in season 1 by having Tyrion get knocked unconscious and wake up after the battle is over.

The Battle of Blackwater Bay in season two would have required an enormous budget to do it any kind of justice. It is somewhat impressive what they did with their comparatively small budget, but the battle described in the books would have been absolutely jaw-dropping with the whole "bridge of boats" section.
