Did anyone see him block with anything other than a shield?
THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS!^

gotta tell ya guys, im actually less exited now watching the clips. the ai reacts poorly, the combat other then the spell stuff looked boring, and really if we can only block with the shield, there will be no reason for me to play as anything other then a wizard, after playing oblivion and fallout3/nv not being able to parry/block with weapon, does not seem like an option.

Other then the dragons, and the way stuff looks, i find it hard to get exited... maybe when they make the next fallout on this engein they will get me to preorder or and get the extra special addition for $9999

Oh, and if you are fighting a giant, and he back hands you with his giant fist, you should get knocked back or something, or you might as well be fighting a paper mountain

Meh.. i don't know yet. I see a lack of stealth/archer gameplay (there is some, but its like one or two small parts) and too much focus on warrior and magic. Archer-rogues are my prefered playstyle, and i hope it will be an effective "build" even in the endgame.

AI archer that enter melee range with a dragon, get burned (no attempt to avoid) then gets eaten.. right.

Getting puched by Big mammoths and giants.. and we dont go flying off in the distance? Not even a little?

Still, looking foward to it, but i will take my sweet time and wait for the inevitable bug-fixes before i give it a try.

I already watched this earlier today, and I was very pleased with what I saw. Other than a lack of horse combat, the removal of custom-made spells, and the horse's movement animations, SKYRIM! (it has to be shouted) is definitely living up to my expectations. Let's just hope that this trend of severe awesomeness isn't misleading my excitable mind.
Wait, they removed the custom spells? But those were fantastic! Why would they get rid of those, of all things? Besides the huge potential for gamebreaking, of course.

I think is 40 minutes of gameplay from Quakecon 2011 condenced into 20 minutes. The original gameplay was better because the crowd kept yelling stuff like "kill the horse!"

My best guess is that Condemned was so very focused around that melee gameplay, they wanted to make it feel absolutely authentic and real.

In Skyrim, you can use bows, magic, swords, your fists, whatever. So I'm simply assuming that being able to incorporate the physics and weighty feel that the melee in condemned had would bleed into the other methods you have of fighting, and make those feel stupid or out of place.
I don't see how an enemy staggering when he is struck by something would look stupid when applied to an arrow or spell. I'm not asking the world here, but the npc's in that video were sliced in the throat an didn't even blink.

Hm...looks visually impressive and the dual-spell-wielding thing was nifty. I'll pick this up from a bargain bin in a couple of years with all the DLCs, patches and whatnot.

I still don't get why developers wont pick up the Cryengine, yes this one is pretty decent but Crysis did it better and it would give you all the engine building time to spend on actual game development, not to mention the piles of bugs TES engines always come with.

Does this mean that you can ONLY block with a shield now!? In part 2, he was just gormlessly soaking up hits. That's a pretty big step back!

WTF?!
I can understand dragons and stuff but that log @5:40 must have weighted a ton!
;P
I actually found that one of the more impressive parts.
I was honestly convinced that, when he hocked that log, I was going to see some animation of the NPC trying to move the log.
I never expected he actually moved the log.
I was convinced it was just part of "static background" or whatever the right term is.

Hmm, it has the feel of Oblivion, only it seems less visually inteesting...and Oblivion was kind of ordinary for the most part. I'm kind of less excited now that I saw it.

And pushing the fact that this is mostly fps game? When I saw that dragon flying by, even the player couldn't really keep track of it, 3rd person is better I think, glad there's an option still.

I just hope they make the pc version's menus different, as in these might be fine for console, but not very clear and examination of items is not very open.

...and why is the main hero and a lot of npcs (like the mastodon tamer or whatever that was) shirtless or without sleeves, isn't it a point of character development that when there's a lot of snow around and you climb to the top of the mountains, you get warmer clothes?
