Watches, how do you wear yours?

I consider my old, obsolete cell phone to be a pocket watch. It's always on the correct time after all. I keep it in my front pocket, generally the right side. I had a wrist-watch which I would wear on the left wrist but it crapped out after about a year of wear. Too bad too, as it was a Joker watch.

I generally wear my watch loose. Sometimes when I go to read it it's sitting on the top of my wrist, other times on the underside of it.

Yea, you can have a clock on your phone, but glancing at your wrist is easier than pulling the phone from the pocket, checking the time, and putting it back. Especially when sitting down for a lecture or somesutch.

I wear my watch on my right hand, with the face facing the standard way. I'm still surprised by how many "Are you left-handed?" comments I get. And as for phones telling the time, why pull out a phone when I've got the time on my wrist?

I'm OK... bit bummed that a lot of places don't have funding 'T_T' , though a few research leads were nice enough to recommend other potential supervisors. Might end up doing a cross between of stuff now... (microbiol & chem ecol).

I wear my watch in the "normal" way, though I see enough people wearing them like the OP, so it's not weird.

And I don't get people that say "I just look at my cel phone, watches are useless." I find it a lot easier to just glance down at my wrist than fish my phone out of my pocket. And besides, at work we're not allowed to have our cel phones on while on the clock.

Left wrist (I'm right handed and I'm an illustrator so I wear nothing on my right wrist: not only does it get in the way, it drags across the paper and leaves ugly marks!) and topside (although I appreciate it's easier to look at the inside of your wrist, if I turn the face there it makes it uncomfortable to flex my wrist because there's this bulky circle there. Could be different if I wore a different watch design, of course).

I don't get all this Hurr Durr I have no watch I has phone lol being bandied about. I want to know the time, I look at my wrist. I don't have to go rooting through pockets for my berry. I dont have to unlock it or take it out of a holster or anything. It's just there. on my wrist. aaah Convenience.

Not just that, but there are a lot of times that you're supposed to turn your phone off (meetings, libraries, classes/lectures) and even if they're on silent it seems rude to take them out. And if you're more paranoid/live in a dodgy neighbourhood, there are times when you don't want to be flashing your mobile phone to potential pickpockets just to see what time it is!

On my left wrist, turned upside down so the face is facing the ground. I'm use to turning my wrist over to view it - that's just how I prefer it.

Fun fact, the luminous dial of most digital watches can be used to send a corona of light through a dark room.
This only works if your eyes have fully adjusted to the dark.
It's handy when it's three AM and I'm trying to see if the shadow in the corner is a serial killer or a sweatshirt on a chair.

Works fine, I actually have the week off because I have been covering for other people who have been out sick so at the moment I am kicking back and relaxing

It sucks to hear about the funding, but it might be more interesting to do a cross of stuff, more things to talk about on your C.V and in interviews. I wish you all the best man.

On my right wrist (I am right-handed,) watch face up.

My dad is left-handed/ambidextrous, and he always wore it on his right hand, so I got it from him.

It always pissed me off when character creation in games restricts watches to your left wrist.

I wear mine on my right wirst because I'm left handed. I wear a watch because it's hard to look at a smart phone on your motorcycle. I keep mine on top of my wrist so I don't have to set my throttle lock to look at it. I just rotate my wrist a bit to glance at it, sometimes using my clutch hand to hit the illumination button on it in the dark, then go back to concentrating on the road. There's also a clock in my instrument cluster, but I usually leave it on the Odometer setting so I can watch mileage.
