So I was doing the thieves guild quest where I had to burn the bees nests. I burn the three I needed and left the rest unfortunately a dragon decided that was a good time to come and attack me and it's breath attack took out the other 2. Well I killed that dragon and then got out of there and then I get reprimanded by Bryanholf for burnining the other two. I wish that I could blame that mistake on the dragon.

Also I wish that you could tell guilds that you are joining that you are dragonborn.

The exact same thing happened to me. I decided then and there that all dragons would die for the crimes of their fallen kin.

I wish the characters would at least show some kind of emotion, because many times they sounded like they were angry or happy, but it didn't look that way to me.

Also I wish the cities were larger and had more people, to be honest, for how big skyrim is it seems like there are barely any people there.

There could have been less bugs, and the patch couldn't have hurt the game so much.

Other than that, great game. I look forward to the next patch if it fixes stuff.

NPC dialogue. God, either add a little bit more to vary it, or just make them shut up after they've said their line once. Followers are freaking annoying in Skyrim. I actually sent mine away after he'd repeated the same line for about the 8th time in one dungeon. Not to mention the guards, who've already spawned a meme.

Then there's the fact that certain faction NPCs say things that make absolutely no sense. I'm a friggin Legate for the Empire, yet Imperial soldiers will scold me when I get too close to them in the world while they are with a prisoner. Somehow me passing by them is disruptive and they seem like they'll take me as a threat if I don't move on.

Then if you happen to be in a store right when they close: "You need to leave. You need to leave. You need to leave. You need to leave. You need to leave."

So yea, NPC dialogue is the game's biggest problem in my mind. It really pulls me out of the experience. I'm not even usually one of those people who complain about immersion breakers. It's just that bad.

There are other issues:
-Vendors don't have enough money. The only exception is the one vendor for the Thieves Guild once you've completely finished that quest line.

-The lockpicking. Even with a high skill and if you just do a bunch of novice locks, you're going to break a few lockpicks. The minigame as a whole isn't totally based on chance, but that first move in it totally is. After Oblivion, it just kind of irks me.

-Too many generic bandit camps/forts. It gets a bit dull.

-Dragons are too easy. I fear bears more than dragons. Something is wrong with that.

-The Imperial (and I assume Stormcloak as well) quests: reeeaaally boring.

But overall, I love the game. I put about 120 hours into it, and have only now moved on to something different.

Way better AI. Jesus Christ I love this game to death, but the AI can just ruin it for me. Not just the enemies, but my companions always stand there idling in door wells and never moving out of the way. The enemy AI is equally as thick, chasing you one moment and buggering off the next.
More speech for the AIs, no not the 'arrow to the knee', but I wanted to talk to Alfred Stormcloak about how we were almost executed.
And every hour or so the game exits itself and returns to desktop, no it doesn't crash, it just closes and thats the biggest gripe of Skyrim.
Though its my favourite game so far of 2011.

I just wished it allowed me to actually use the horse-power my comp actually has, being stuck with 2 cores and 2 gigs of ram makes me a sad panda.

Making the custom objective marker on the compass BIG AND RED like it was in OBLIVION!
This tiny little grey blue line that's supposed to point me in the right direction when I'm trekking three quarters of the way across the map is a piece of shit.
Plus it's not even priority, so it gets covered by every other marker on your compass.

I swear to god when I was looking for the mage college I must have opened the map 200 times just to make sure I was facing the right direction.

I also miss the Feather spell that increased your encumbrance capacity. I spend way too much time fast traveling back to town to sell all my crap. But, upon reflection I do have more money than I know what to do with so I guess that one's kind of a wash.

Thirdly, spiders are scary! They should change all the spider enemies to lady bugs.
In one of the early missions you have to save a guy who's wrapped up in a web and kill a giant spider. I was too much of a pussy to actually look at the thing so I quick saved out side the door turned the difficulty down and looked away from the screen and ran in there blasting fireballs at it. Every time I have to fight a spider in a non story mission I just book the other way.

Oh, and do the dragons still fly backwards? yeah they should fix that as well.

-Worst houses ever
-More storage chests in houses or at least a sorter like the inventory menu
-Only got one lab, wheres my smithing stuff my enchanting stuff seriously I buy the best house in Skyrim and upgrade it to the max I should get all the amenities.
-OMG horses so freaken slow and they try to "help" by getting them self killed >.<
and worst of all I can't use bows on the horse or sword wth man lol.
Alot of the times I get surrended I have to slowly dismount the game resets to player character then sets the camera then I'm able to fight all the while I'm being attacked >.<

thats about it for me.

Well, it does have a real world geographical precedent in this respect: Canada.

Personally, I think the absolute worst part about Skyrim is that you still can't sort your savegames by character. Why do I think this is the worst part? Because it's not a bug. It's something they fucking chose not to include. Just like they did in Oblivion. And it's ridiculous.

More artifacts, seriously I need far more choice on my end level weapon than Daedric sword or Dawnbreaker. I'd love it if all the old stuff, plus awesome new stuff turned up once you hit a certain level. You'd have to make choices between the different effects and have great stuff to put on display. Keening and Sunder could be the best dual wielding set, with unique effects when used togther (with wraithguard of course). Ice Blade of the Monarch freezes enemies but Chrysamere heals you faster. Goldbrand sets enemies aflame but Hopefire illuminates caverns like a torch.

Unique armour to choose from, including gauntlets and boots. Seriously the boots of blinding speed returning would be awesome. The fists of Randagulf, etc.

Also the one handed, two handed system actually means spears could make a decent return. They could pass armour defenses on forward thrusts and have a chance to stagger but do low damaged when doing sidewards attacks. You could have two handed long spears and shorter one that could be used with a shield.

Theres a million ways to improve Skyrim, everyone here is probably right. It's good for what it is, I just wish there were enemy's that couldn't be killed by just running up and slashing or shooting at them, as soon as the dragons land I just stun and win. Also, the wolves, bandits and undead are very very common, I wish for more unique monsters.

Your 100% right, can we change the names of the saved files at least?

The menu system is a fucking joke. Looking for an item in your inventory is a chore, under certain circumstances it becomes nearly impossible to accomplish in a reasonable timeframe. Oblivion's menus left a lot to be desired but even those were much better than this abomination.

Game engine - this isn't a new engine dear Bethesda, it's just the old one, renamed.

Humor - Couldn't hurt to add a bit more.

Consequences - too many times I felt that whatever I do, doesn't mean a thing for the world. I assassinate the... well, *prominent figure* (not to spoil anything) at the end of Dark Brotherhood's questline and aside from a few references from random NPCs literally nothing changes. It's like I don't even need to bother.

More voice actors - again, the same issue as always. Too often I encountered two NPC talking with each other using the same very distinctive voice.

And pretty much everything already metioned in this thread, those are all very valid points.

The game is not bad, and even though it fails on so many levels it's still one of the best ones to come out this year (lack of competition, really). It just feels Bethesda doesn't learn from their past mistakes. Or simply doesn't care.
