I have began to notice alot of doub't in games and movies.

Personally I think if we just give everything a chance we might like Far Cry the movie or 10,000 BC the movie. Same goes for the games, but this is what I have to say...

Just hope for the best and when you finaly do give life a chance review the up's and down's on the Review Forum. I hate it when people think something will suck just because of all the idiotic directors out there or companies.

Also, Shut up, Sit down, And enjoy what you got.

But then we'd never get something better.
That's the point, when is something ever better in the eyes of everyone at the same time.

Okay, were all diffrent, short and sweet, were flawed, that's what make's us human, can we be perfect, NO, that's why they seem to suck.

I am really unsure of what you're trying to say, but since snoopy was my favorite cartoon when I was eight I'll forgive you.

Pessimism is much more fun than idly waiting. If you prepare for the worst, then you're never disappointed. Besides, speculation fans the fires of hype.

Um...yes, people are going to be judging. I sorta like to know if what I'm spending my money on is worthy of the amount of money I'm spending. Not to mention my time spent watching/playing it. If the only information I have on a movie/game indicates it's going to be of poor quality, I shouldn't spend my time or money on it, now should I? Not when there could be better uses of it.

Actually, I realize there's a very RTS-centric way of explaining that...

I stopped watching movies after Epic Movie. I don't care if it was the worst movie ever and everything else will be better, I do not like movies anymore.

While I believe this is sarcasm, the fact that I am unsure is interesting.
The entertainment industry is MASSIVE.
There will always be crap, therefore this is just like complaining because your face is getting dusty when you mine for gold.

As far as the hype factor goes....which is the real point of this forum, trying to be objective about Uwe Boll is just silly.

We aren't reviewing someones character. We are reviewing their product.
Which is something we PAY for.

I dunno. I mean, I've seen plenty of good movies, but whenever someone asks me what my favorite movie is, I honestly don't have an answer for them. I honestly feel like I haven't seen anything that's really blown me away, so I can relate to the pessimism around entertainment media.
Personally, I like to take the same cynical path I always do- if you watch crap, then they're making money off crap and they're going to give you crap. Sure, you get a gem every now and again, but shouldn't we deal with the worst of it before we get to the better things?

Everyone has different tastes, and so opinions (yes, that's what they are) will vary. I'm going to be controversial and mention the fact that I thought 300 was crap, but I know there are those who think it's the best film ever made (just like The Matrix series, complete utter trollop imo). The same people say that Infernal Affairs is crap, where in fact it's one of my favourite movies of all time, along with Zatoichi.

Views will always vary.

However, JOE COOL, people are entitled to their opinions and you telling them to 'shut up, sit down, and enjoy what you got' isn't exactly the greatest way to go about things. Sure, you're pissed that people doubt Hollywood; but that's their choice (and mine) so your argument seems to be against giving people the freedom to choose for themselves whether or not they like something.

Note: those who base their whole experience on what others say are plain dumb. If I followed every review I've ever read I'd be the proud (or not) owner of all the Halo games. That would be a very sad life. If people are too dumb to ignore other people's reviews and make their own judgments then let them go about their business like the sheep they are and you enjoy whatever the hell you want to enjoy.

300 was a few character developments short of a great movie, but it was pretty and made me want to hug violence.

And nobody likes the Matrix series (as far as I know), but I adore the first film. The dialogue isn't ideal, but one must be reasonable.

Sure I loved Shaun of the Dead, but the characters were flat, were hardly believable, blah blah blah... Bad Special Effects! Okay, now, do I like this movie or not?

Actually I love it, and I didn't mean any of those things, I was illustrating a point.
I was so frightened until that last bit. I love Shaun of the Dead. I say "Thanks babe" to people without even realizing it.

In the end it doesn't matter how much everyone whines beforehand because the general public will always stay the same as the one that put Meet the Spartans as the #1 film on its opening weekend. We may as well just lay down and die already.

Larenxis:

I wasn't bringing up the topic of 300 to start a discussion. I know what it lacked (for me at least). It was merely to point out the fact that opinions vary and anyone that thinks otherwise is a rather oversized moron that should have been put down some time ago.

Seriously, this thread is pretty much pointless because people (at least I would hope) will make their own decision on the matter. Like I said, if they have to follow others like bleeting lambs then that's their loss..

Hollywood from time to time shoots out some great iconic films, yes. We can all agree on this. Other then that... Hollywood can go suck off and die in some mouldy pit of rape(?).

So you're telling us to enjoy every film that Uwe Bowle squirts out? Pearl Harbour wasn't great but I enjoy it because it's a big budget movie. Let me go on please... Ultraviolet was colourful, Underworld had an exciting thrilling storyline that was original, Blade took a good look at vampires, the new Dawn of the Dead was creative with their use of zombies, the Matrix 2 and 3 were great and mind blowing squels to the first, 10,00 BC looks to have great SFX, I can't wait for a Far Cry movie since most video gae to movie adaptions stay true to the original story, I love Hollywood and ever director is great and never make bad films.

Why watch a movie that insults your eyes and wastes your $$$? I hate to admit but Hollywood isn't the greatest thing out. You want real movies? Here's a bunch that's worth the time and money: Pan's Labrinth, Downfall, The Red Violin, Black Book, Requiem For a Dream, etc. These movies don't cost an arm and a leg to make but are the most beautiful things I've seen.

EDIT:
Oh hold on, I want to add these to my list:
Epic Movie, Scary movie, Date Movie, Meet the Spartans were all very funny and worth ever cent they cost.
