James grinned wearily at Joe's joke, but he really didn't feel in the mood. He was tired. The day had been long, and too much had happened. He remembered the gas mask clones. It had helped that their faces were covered, giving them anonymity, but still, they were so... small. Just little kids. And he had gunned them down or snapped them like twigs. And then the dragon. There was something more to that. It had looked at them with such hatred, he couldn't believe it could come from a simple animal. The whole thing with Erica sickened him to his core, both at her actions, and at the idea that he had shattered that newly developed friendship. And finally, Joe. He had come within a hair's breadth of gunning down a friend once again. It was too much to take in all at once.
"Why don't you guys go and eat then? I'm wrecked. I think I'll just go and sleep." James said, turning away from Joe and Winona.
Sleep will be slow in coming tonight.
