Erica was about to respond to Tophat when she seemingly lost contact with it, along with the rest of the world. She didn't hear Jowy.

Sable brings his gauntlets down on the table he was working at with a loud slam, "Aggggghh! Why can I not remember Castlewood's layout? I remembered every nook and cranny, and every passage and room, but now, I can't remember it at all!" He then gets an epiphany "Aha! Onyx must be shifting the walls and layout of the castle, due to their Ebonite infusion, and that is blocking the layout I know from being the one I'm connected to, and the new layout and the old layout are clashing in my mind, causing an incoherent mess! No wonder I can't draw a map!"
