"Well, he was in very bad shape. His heart was failing, his pulse was dangerously weak and irregular even without the injuries. Now we've been able to augment it with biomechanical aids that should keep it beating stronger for some time yet, but the sword wound that he suffered in the battle was the real issue. It severed his spine, and caused severe lacerations to his internal organs. We've been able to repair the internal damage, but his spine... if we could have gotten to him earlier... I'm sorry Captain. The damage is beyond our technology to repair."

"Yes Captain, at once." Agrippa replied, and sent a command on to the hangar. Within a few minutes, the efficient hangar crew had prepared one of the shuttles at standby, and it took off, exiting the Dreadnought and dropping straight for the surface.

The shuttle dropped out of the cloud cover at terminal velocity before bringing its forward thrust drive into play and levelling out, then cruising down at a high angle above the shattered ruins of the Cutting Blade. The side hatch opened and two Turians climbed out, saluting Maris as they did so.
"Lieutenant Maris?" One of them asked.
"Lieutenant Maris?" One of them asked.
Winter sighed relief about Grace healing her. "Well... At least... That's slightly better. Thank you Valentine for helping Rose. Thank you."
