As Deliverance kept simply absorbing all of his attacks, Kefka was getting worried. Was this a foe he could not best?
Kefka ran out of the way of the Devil's Breath, but some of the fire springing forth from the blazing whirlwind still hit him and set his overabundance of clothing on fire. Kefka used a Blizzard spell on himself to extinguish the flames.
After this, he turned to face Deliverance again.
In a desperate attempt, Kefka cast Confuse at Deliverance. Yellow birds spun around his head, altering his state of mind.
Should this work, he'll attack himself...

Nu tired to raise up her free arm to push Grace off, but the kicks and the bolts made her go limp. She nearly blacked out, but held on when she heard Alicia. "Ragna... No! You wont take me away!" She brought her arm up again, trying to slash Grace with the blade.

Grace continued chanting, then pressed her forehead against Nu's. Suddenly, she found herself inside Nu/Lambda's mind. She quickly began looking for Lambda, hoping to set her free and put her back into control.

Gwen's powerful gravity attack kept Deliverance still and unable to move. And Kefka's confuse spell disorients him. He has trouble seeing where he's going, but in his frustration, he screams out and causes a shock-wave to push back the group, knocking them off balance. Afterwards, he falls to his knees and vomits blood. "Not yet. They still live."
