The slight change in tone went over Yeul's head. Caius however, ever vigilant as he is, picked up on it. And although his concern for for Yeul's safety greatened, he said nothing for the time being.
"How long have you been here in this place?" Yeul asked Alex as she walked over and sat down on a nearby bench.

"Looks like we eliminated most of the battle suits, but we've still got some fighting to do yet. I'd suggest doing strafing runs, pretty simple, icing on the assault cake, follow?" Bryce is reloading his sniper and taking aim on an enemy infantry man.

After that, we'll attack his prison, break him out, and possibly collapse the corrupt government while we're working." Bryce took a shot, and knocked the soldiers head off. "you're gone..." He muttered.
"Monsters? I think I missed those." he put both hands on his knees as he sat, and they popped as he moved. He barely winced at this, but there were faint signs of pain.

"It happened some time after we arived. I couldn't see it very clearly, but there were these tentacles, impaling people. Shortly after, those struk by the tentacles began... changing. Were it left unchecked, it would have spelled the doom of this city." Yeul explained, then pointed over to the site of the bloodbath, still blocked off and the scene covered by blue tents, now lit by lamps. The silhouettes of the personel investigating could be seen moving inside. "It was stopped in time, and thus that was as much damage as it did." Hearing the popping sound, Yeul looked at Alex, her eyebrows raised ever-so-slightly. "That sounded painful. Are you alright?"

Bryce packs up his rifle and begins sprinting across the no man's land, quickly having to drop to all fours to keep his speed going, arms elongating to allow more fluid movement.
"Its just old age. Arthritis from running around battlefields. Better that then dead, I suppose..." Alex smiles. "Yeah, I'd say its a damn sight better then dead."
