The Vault Hunters kept running, follwoing the group. "You know, a car would be great right about now!" the military man shouted. "Will you stop with that allready?!" the teenager yelled back.
As the others either fled or moved to fight the worms, Jensen stayed on the dune. He wasn't a man to show fear, but he knew that armed with only a pistol and his augmentations, there was no way he could contribute to the battle except as bait. Instead, he triggered his cloaking system and faded from sight, watching the battle unfold.
Where to run to? Nowhere? Just away for now. The creatures were like whales of the land. He stopped, noticed how far ahead he was and watched the others fleeing breifly before sprinting away again.
As Rex began to fall behind, he reactivates his boosters and manages to keep up. As Black drives past, Rex yells out "Showoff!"
Suddenly, a voice rings in Rex's head. "Do you require assistance, sir?" Looking down at his chain, he shakes his head and runs on.
Once Black was at enough distance, she hopped of the bike and it returns to her transmitter, she then Materialized a Sniper rifle and took aim, being carefully not to hit any 'Friendlies'. "Showing off and preparing are two different things...." She muttered to Rex.
Rozalin crossed her arms and let out a dismissive 'Hmph' as Royce began to carry her. This is utterly demeaning. To not only require help, but to receive it in a manner such as this. I can only hope these other people are too busy saving themselves to take note of my current situation.
But the thread is open? Oh you mean I haven't stuck the word open in the title? Dat's what you mean, right? Also if enough people don't like the numbering I'll change it.
The worm that Rex and Sable shot at roared and disappeared under the sand whilst the other two continued with their pursuit.
Eve was coming up the crest of a dune when she decided to look behind her. Where's the other one gone? she thought when she suddenly tripped and stumbled over the other side of the dune. Just as she came to stop at the bottom, the worm that had disappeared launched itself from the sand a few feet in front of her and began arching in the air towards them. "243! 243! 243!" she cursed as she pulled herself up and tried to throw herself out of the way.
"Well looking through these texts, the worms appear to be sensitive to sound. So make enough of a racket and they should come running." The figure crossed one arm as they watched the continued pursuit. "Two things. 1. How are am I going to make a whole lot of noise? And. 2. Why d0 1 h4v3 t0 d0 1t?" "Well it's simple, you're already there and are you shitting me?" The figure looked at the transceiver in confusion for a moment before grinning crazily. "I guess weC0uld G1v3 㣡 G0! it replied before stashing the transceiver and raising their hood.
Seeing that the people attacking the worms were fully committed to the fight, Jensen turned away and hurried down the dune, deactivating his cloaking system as he went. At the bottom, he took off at full speed, his augmented limbs allowing him to make a reasonably good pace even over the difficult sandy terrain. He hurried to catch up to the others.
Black focused her aim. "When the time is ready.....Now!" She said, then fired at one of the worms, she then picked a rock and turned in into a bullet and re-loaded her sniper and took another shot an the worm. "All creatures great....and small..."
The teenager turned to Handsome Jack, scowling. "I called dibs on it, that's why." "Hey, I called it!" "No, you called the turret. Now, can we stop arguing and focus on running away from the sandworms?!"
Sable gets annoyed and starts throwing explosive potions (Enough noise for the sandworms perhaps?) Derpy continues flying around blissfully with the knight on her back
Balthier came to a stop when the worm emerged from the direction he was going toward. "No outrunning them, it seems." He muttered to himself with a irritable tone. He flung the rufle over his shoulder and reached into one of the pouches dangling from his hip, pulling out what looked like a handheld bomb.
"Just get me as far away from these horrid creatures as possible. It is the least you can do for putting a Princess in such a debasing position." Rozalin replied authoritatively to Royce. She was facing back towards the tree as Royce carried her, so she had no idea that there was one much more close in the opposite direction.
