The Elite that was within Val's vortex had his armour ruthlessly penetrated by the red spikes eventually leading to the controller taking voluntary suicide and detonating the battle armour whilst in the vortex.
Some of Metznick's shots flew passed the turret however one hit the side of the Elite, who had replaced the gunner killed by Balthier, causing him to instinctively let go of the gun as the plasma burnt into armour and sides. As he felt twitching one of the other Elites rose to take his place as another plasma shot hit the side of the turret and damaging it so that it was able fire fewer bullets at one time.
Three of Bryce's grenades bounced off the front of the turret's shields and detonated harmlessly in the sand whilst two flew over. One landed in group of five soldiers, killing three of them whilst putting two out of commission as the frags pierced their armour. The other grenade flew over and landed in the face of one of the gunner's just as he was reeling back from the sudden dent created in his turret's shield by Balthier's bullet. The grenade exploded removing the head of the gunner and making the turret inoperable.
Rex's charged shell blew a hole in the shields raised at the front of the landing point whilst additionally killing two soldiers however it opened up another point for them to shoot at him from.
"I didn't expect to find another of the barkeep's kind to be hiding in this Tavern and by the look of that helmet you appear to have not given up the trade native to your lot, have you?" questioned the Overseer as he stared at Eve whilst sounds of breaking wood and glass were heard from the bar. "Now let's see here. Young, female and scared out of her mind. Yes... Two months in the rehabilitation centre should be enough to get you working for us unlike the stubborn worm I just had to kill. Oh and it's not like you'll be treated like dirt all the time as is custom for most species. Just don't expect the sort of treatment you would get elsewhere." he said menacingly as a series of low beeps could be heard from behind him. The Overseer turned and saw X-98t had three large bags attached to his belt. "Well done now I have another job for you. Grab this girl..." he said pointing at Eve who had was trying to crawl away. "...and bring her with us. I believe this town no longer offers anything worthwhile so..." The Overseer pulls a grenade from his belt and unpins it as Eve is grabbed by X-98t and attempts to struggle free. "We'll raze it to the ground." With that said he chucks the grenade at the bar amongst broken bottles and pools of alcohol and proceeds to exit the tavern with X-98t in tow.
Outside the Overseer walks into the centre of the remaining soldiers with X-98t on one side and the Saboteur, who had stood up as he had exited the Tavern, on his other as he relays a command back to the Carrier. The Landing Point shifts in the sand slightly and at first slowly begins to rise up. "Prepare grenades! The Overseer yells as all the soldiers cease fire and grab and unpin their remaining grenades. "RAZE!" the Overseer commands and the soldiers throw their grenades in various directions amongst the town.
At the same moment as the soldier's chuck their grenades, the bombs that the Saboteur had placed in Figaro Castle slowed to a single deep red and a series of *whumps* were heard as they activated. A few of them that had been thrown outside detonated in the sand however the remaining few attached to the castle and being carried by the guardsmen caused a huge explosion along the top floors corridor killing the men carrying bombs and destroying half of top floor causing it to collapse to the rooms below.
