There were roughly 14 dogtags nearly Black (including Bullet's own) and 16 dogtags around Royce.

OoC @Slenn: Huh. I missed that. Doesn't really make sense, since workers have been working on it around the clock.
Also, would you say Bio Blaster shoots out a cloud of poison gas, or toxic sludge?

Asking one of the servents if there was still any food to be had, he informed Balthier that the castle only has emergency provisions for the time being, and would have to make due with bread. Sighing, Balthier asked for a small loaf, and went back outside once he recieved it. "Ah. You're still alive." Balthier said to Black once she slid down the chain and landed not far from him. "I was wondering if you had survived the blast."

@Nailik. I always saw Edgar putting on a mask or something while using it. So I always assumed it gassed the enemies. The animation made it look like a gas of some sort.

Black dusted herself off slightly, when Balthier spoke she raised an eyebrow at him. "of course I survive, it's what I do... but...what blast are you on about?" She asked Balthier, as the chain reeled its self back to Black.

Bullet sighed and gave up, seeing that she couldn't find the dogtags, she limped down to the ground floor of Figaro Castle.

 

[Coppernerves]

Giving up on the castle, Luigi and Pavi went outside to the courtyard, coming out they saw the remains of a wrecked town and a man in khaki trousers and a white shirt collecting metal things from the ground.

Pavi: Excuse me good man! Do you know where the nearest bank is?

Luigi just hanged back and listened, scowling at the dry, desperate, coffeeless situation.

"Take a look around." Balthier replied, motioning to the ruined top floors. "There was an explosion, and this is the result. Quite the stroke of luck you had, surviving that."

Black looked around seeing the ruined rooftops. "[sub]I must a pretty heavy sleeper not to of heard that...[/sub]" She said, then turned back to Balthier. "Who or what did that?...and how did I end up on the roof?" She asked Balthier. Maybe it was a sneak attack?.....this serves as a reminder....your not safe because your asleep....

"Um...somewhere that way..." Royce said, gesturing to the town behind him.

"Two days ago, a infiltrator managed to enter the castle. She must have planted explosives while she was here." Balthier replied, sitting down on a piece of rubble and taking a bite out of the loaf of bread. After swalowing, he added, "Though I shot her in the battle yesterday. The enemy picked her up when they retreated, however. So I doubt the shot managed to kill.
As for how you ended up on the roof? My guess is as good as yours there."

"I see...." Black replied to Balthier, putting a hand in her pocket. "It goes to show we can't trust everyone.....nor can we let our guard down...." She added, she was about to rest her other hand on the handle of her blade, but remembered she left it in the women's quarters. "Hmm...excuse for a moment Balthier....I must retrieve my weapon...." She said to Balthier, giving a small bow to him before walking towards the entrance.

"As you wish." After Black left and Balthier ate the loaf of bread, he retrived the cotton tip from his pouch, disassembled his weapon and began cleaning it again. The sands aren't doing the firing mechanism any favors...

As Black walked into the castle, she started to see more and more bits of rumble. "Pointless destruction....it's such a waste...."

Royce walked slowly into the castle as well, looking at all the tags he had collected.

"The moment our airship is powered, we'll embark in the search for this floating island." Balthier answered Tarkus, not looking up from his work.

Bullet sat on the edges castle, in a foul mood for losing the dogtags.

"The mayor of the town that was destroyed yesterday has been abducted. And since he is appearantly the only person who might know how we are to return to our own realms, we are to rescue him." Balthier explained holding up a part of the rifle between to fingers and looking closely if it has been thoroughly cleaned.

Black entered the ruin women's quarters and sighed, she started move the bit of rumble and brick out of the way as she looked for her sword.
