Hearing the screams of panic and terror, as feint as they were, the man turned towards the direction where they came from, the tip of his sword scraping over the ground. The attention of the pedestrians who first had been cautious when the man with the demonic-looking sword looked away from him hearing the sounds of terror. While some remained where they were, whispering to eachother, others walked towards the sounds, curiousity getting the better of them. Others began moving away.

Eventually, the man turned to the girl. "We shouldn't remain here." he spoke with urgency.
The girl shook her head in responce. "No. This can still be stopped."
The man frowned upon hearing the girl's remark. "And jeopordize your safety? No. It was a mistake to come here. We should leave. Now."
The girl held the man's free hand and looked up, looking him in the eyes. "Caius, please."
After staring the girl down for a moment, the man hmm'd and turned around, walking towards the sounds. "Very well then... Stay close."
The girl did as she was told and silently followed.

OoC @FPS: I have no idea, not knowing the layout of the city and all. Let's go with no.
@Rosh: This will make Nile's necrophilic bad guy sad. lol.

Archimedes after a couple more attempts of getting past the barrier walked back. He came across Riven after a while and saw the fox "That fox doesn't need all of it's tails right. I always wanted a fox hat." He said taking out a knife

I turn to Archimedes. "Its not mine. Do what you will with it."

The fox growls at Archimedes, its tails raised up at him.

 

[Random berk]

Mercer almost cackled watching the people gathered around him as his new thralls writhed in agony on the ground as the virus burned its way through their bloodstream to their brains. Though some people had fled, others were standing looking at him in horror, shellshock, even dumb incomprehension. He decided to make it clearer to them.
"Can I have a volunteer from the audience?!" He roared, and hurled a whipfist into the crowd. It came back driven through the bulging stomach of a portly, balding man in an expensive suit, totally stiff, pale-faced and gulping like a dying fish. Bringing him face to face, Mercer grinned and nodded politely, then thrust the man into the air and ripped his whipfist loose, immediately mutating both his hands into claws. As the man fell, Mercer slashed upwards with both and instantly sliced the man into cubes which went flying, showering the crowd in his blood. At the same time the first few of the infected picked themselves up and shambled towards the crowd. That did the trick. They beganto struggle back exactly as they had before.

OoC @Nail no, I mean that are they cloaked in some way?

As Bryce walked through the streets, he heard the screams. Grumbling, he followed the noises.

"Now little fox be still or I will have to use my gun and kill you"

"What's that noise?" Marisa said, hearing the shrieks of terror.

<color=red>"I dunno, but it doesn't sound like anything too good."

"Let's fly over and see."

Marisa hopped on her broomstick and flew beside Reimu towards the screaming, high in the air.
"This situation just got weirder and worse by the second."
<color=red>"You think it's that Mercer guy?"
"It must be, even from this height, those people don't look like normal. They look infected."
<color=red>"You still have that camera? Let's get some pictures."
"Gotcha."

Marisa began taking snapshots of Mercer's rampage from the great height up.
"The zoom feature thing helps a lot. And I can definitely see Mercer from here." She said as she took a snapshot of him.

The fox continued to growl at Archimedes before teleporting ontop of my head, resting. I sigh, not really trying to give a damn.

Once the noise of screams reached my ears, I unbelted my sword, but didn't move just yet.

OoC @FPS: Oh. Nope. That they are not.


The duo continued making their way towards the noise, brushing past the panicked citizens as they went. The man moved at a slower pace as he'd like to alow for the girl to keep up with him. As they came within sight of the carnage Mercer and the mutant thrals were creating, the man came to a halt almost instantly, holding out his arm to signal the girl to stop also. Looking around, he pointed to a building that presumibly had been abondoned. Seeing where the man had pointed to, the girl nodded, knowing what was expected of her. Entering the building, the girl closed the door behind her and went to search for a place to hide.
With the girl as safe as posible given the circumstances, the man continued on, the tip of his sword scraping over the ground. The eye on the hilt blinked, as if it had sprung to life.

 

[Demonjazz]

Archimedes looked confused at the fox. "Hey that thing was down there. But now it's up there... I'm getting out of here" He said going towards where every one was

Rex, hearing the screams, sighs a bit. [color=008888] Of course Mercer found a way up here before us... The group can handle themselves... I need to keep my eyes on what's important for now. [/color] He turns back toward the area the group was at before and pulls his hood over his head, his gasmask falling out of it. He scoops it up and puts it on as he walks.

Yukino's ears twitch as the screaming reaches her ears. She grits her teeth a bit as she gets up, putting a hand on the hilt of her sword. [color=bb66bb] "I can never get a good sleep around these idiots..." [/color] She takes a momentary glance at Riven before taking to the rooftops, going toward the sound.

 

[Random berk]

As a great number of the people in the street turned to flee to the intersection, the direction of the military base, Mercer leapt high over their heads and landed in a crouch in front of them. He grinned sadistically as his right arm formed into a blade, the other into a whipfist. The ones at the front tried to stop, terror etched on their faces, but they were driven on by those behind them. Mercer's blade glinted, then he charged into them, the blade whirling around in great broad arcs and the whip flailing and snapping. Blood and body parts flew everywhere as he cut the unfortunate people apart like a lawnmower. The ground beneath them became slick and gummy with entrails and gore.

OOC: So, how is everyone liking my less warm, friendly side? >

Bryce came upon the scene just as Alex ripped into the running crowd, he grinned and charged into the rear of their remains, blending his voice and changing his facial features to a young aristocrat.

I momentarily catch Yukino's glance seeing her take off. I shrug, idly following the screams. If someone is causing pain, then they aren't strong enough.

The fox continued to rest on my head.

OOC: Just a heads up, I can't really stick around for a full battle tonight. Maybe a few passes. I really have to sleep early tonight.

OOC: @Random. Well, it's certainly not going to give him a good reputation that's for sure.

<color=red>"Let's go back and group up. You got those gas masks from Eirin, in case we go in there?"
"Sure do. Doctor's orders."

Having reached the scene, the man stopped and looked around, looking the mutants over, unfazed by either their grotesque appearance, or the gory scene. "Mindless beasts..." He slowly moved his sword out infront of his, the tip pointed downwards, then jumped towards a cluster of infected, reaching a large height. When near, as if propelled, he moved towards them. Moving his sword overhead, he lashed out of the infected, sweeping diagonally from right to left in a wide arc.

OOC: I'll be off to eat dinner.

Yukino lands near the carnage and immediately ignites her sword. As the flames glow orange, she slashes out at a cluster in a horizontal arc, aiming to behead most of the beasts.

Rex continues on his own way, asking people for information regarding the prisons.

 

[Random berk]

The infected howled and charged at the armoured man, Caius. They fell in bloody arcs, got through, seized at his armour, and fell again. Wave after wave, they came, the forerunners of the new plague rising from the corpses of the people that they once were with terrible speed. Meanwhile, Mercer continued his own butchery.

As Yukino ignited her sword, half the infected charged mindlessly at it. Others held back, snarling, transfixed by the flames.
