As the crow watched he would see that the spear on occasion would actually teleport. Often when he would let go of it for a brief moment to reposition his hands. This allowed him to hit areas that wouldn't be achievable with a regular spear.

If any family photos were around he would take note of them in case a wife, child, etc could possibly intrude.
@Zeph, I applaud the Xiphatians for getting access to Oblivion guards, those guys are good
