Nybeth, having grown restless with simply waiting in the now Xiphatian controlled Defense base, was flying around the nearby mountains as a crow. Crow-Nybeth seemed to be looking for something along the lines of a cave, or some ruins.

Jessica stepped out of portal and onto the pavement of a street in Lakewest. Now what's there to be done today? She thought to herself with a sigh.
Since she had left the dimension, her mental link with Ness had been broken. Ness would be able to feel the sensation of the link being broken as if something in her own head had gone missing.

Trilby nodded without even looking up from the mask he was working on.
"Should be, unless we go explosion-happy, which I really don't want to do." he said.

"Need anything else done, im sort fo bored"Silver asked.

As luck would have it, Nybeth would find a rather large cave entrance within visible distance from where he flew. The bones of various hoofed animals lay outside the cave, however.

Nybeth-Crow flew down to the entrance of the cave it had noticed. Making note of the bones outside, Nybeth-Crow cautiously looked into the mouth of the cave first before entering.

 

[Kirke]

The Rookie was cleaning the streets in the vicinity of Jessica again, but now he was somewhat ready to clean the streets of crime as well. He had a simple sword hanging around his waist, though it was doubtfull if he was any good with it.

 

[Chungus]

Nybeth-crow would find the mouth of the cave leading to a series of a windling passage. Here too, some bones laid scattered around, although they were in far less plentiful then outside of the cave. Going in further, entering the deepest part of the cave, Nybeth-crow would find the dragon den. In its center slept Fafnir, who expelled hot air through her nostril when exhaling. Curled up against Fafnir's tail laid her two young. Loki sat against a stalagtite not far away.

OoC: I need to go to class soon, but...

Ness jolts up as the link breaks. She looks around slightly confused before flopping back onto the bed.

Having not seen much to dissuade it at the mouth of the cave, Nybeth-Crow flew into it. It perched itself upon a stalagmite and observed what was in the cave for a few moments. Hmm, a dragon's den. And one of those odd folks who lives among beasts. Truly not the best place for my needs. Destroying this lot would likely take more time than simply finding someplace unoccupied. Nybeth-Crow flew up from its perch and back out of the cave, cawing with displeasure a bit, then went about looking for another cave or a set of ruins.

As Jessica was loitering out on the street, leaning up against a building as she tried to think of something to do, she noticed Rookie and recognized him, having met him and Tophat yesterday. She waved to him as he went about his duties, more as a simple greeting than actually trying to get his attention for something.

 

[Chungus]

After some time of heading south, Nybeth-crow would come across another cave, the entrance of which was smaller then the previous one he had entered.

 

[Kirke]

The Rookie was notified by Tophat that someone was focusing on him. He looked up and saw Jessica, raising his broom momentarily as a greeting.
(To Jessica: Greetings.)

 

[Drakmorg]

Nybeth-Crow observed the second cave that it had found, looking into it just as carefully as it had done with the previous one, now that it knew for certain that things like dragons existed in Alnilam.

Hey there. You know of anything going on? Jessica mentally replied to Tophat. She politely nodded to the Rookie, then went back to loitering about, letting her gaze wander without really focusing on anything.

 

[Kirke]

(To Jessica: Besides the guys threatning to destroy the planet? Not really. By the way, you said you had read about me, but I've never heard of anyone writing about me. Who did?)

 

[Chungus]

Nybeth-crow would find this cave was less a level windling tunnel, and more a descend. At the bottom of the descend was a decent-sized chamber. The cave seemed to be onucupied, a number of bats not withstanding.

Not much we can really do about that particularly massive issue for the moment though. Jessica thought at Tophat with a sigh. Oh, that? I thought I already told you about that. Ah well. Anyways, Four wrote an autobiography, and I've read it cover to cover several times over, so that's where I know you from.

Nybeth-Crow flew into the new cave it had found. Flying down into the underground chamber and landing, the crow exploded into a plume of black smoke, from which Nybeth stepped out. This location will do much more nicely...

Tophat asked with obvious disbelief, (To Jessica: I can't believe she got time to that in between all the fuckin' she did.)

That's my great great great...grandmother you're talking about. Jessica replied to Tophat with as unamused a mental tone as she could muster, repeating the word 'great' the necessary number of times. ...But admittedly she supposedly only ever got around to it after Winter died. She conceded. I can get you a copy if you want one...wait, can you even read?

(To Jessica: In a way.)
Tophat quickly copied Jessica's visual memories of reading through the book. It would feel somewhat, no, really strange. Especially if she wasn't used to more complex telepathic procedures.
(To Jessica: I'll look through this when I've got time. How far back does it reach anyway? From her mental birth or from her getting a body?)

Tophat would feel a reflexive resistance put up by Jessica's mind in response to its unannounced intrusion. However, it wouldn't be enough to stop someone/thing with as much psychic experience as Tophat. To Tophat, it would basically feel like the telepathic equivalent of going over a speed-bump.

Jessica couldn't help but utter some odd noises that implied she found what Tophat did to be less than pleasant. Warn me before you try and do something like that again! I've got mental defenses in place in case of Telepaths, and it doesn't exactly feel pleasant to have them just plowed right through like that. After regaining her composure on the inside and out, she mentally added, It pretty much goes back as far as she could remember, so the former.
