My other half has finally got her Wii, and I was wondering which Gamecube games were worth looking for.
And, more importantly, which Wii games she should avoid.

GC games to look for? Ikaruga, Splinter Cell series, Viewtiful Joe series, Paper Mario, maybe... Eternal Darkness... the Resident Evil remake...

Viewtiful Joe is always amazing... Personally for Wii I enjoyed (for a short time) Mario Party 8, Super Smash Bros.: Brawl, Mario Kart Wii, Wii Sports, and emm... That was about it. OH De Blob was an amazing game that I played at E For All early this year... I can't guarantee it's everything it was then because I have since begun the search to find a buyer for my Wii, but it was amazingly addicting though appearing stupid and childish.

Avoid Red Steel at all costs please.

Get Re4 wiimake, mario galaxy, metroid corruption, and you need a mario kart or Smash bros in there for multiplayer...

Pikmin is really fun and easy. If she's in to fighting games, try SSBM; I find the controls easier to navigate. Also Soul Calibur II; she might enjoy that.

Tales of Symphonia, Wind Waker, Viewtiful Joe(I know it's already been said, just agreeing), Skies of Arcadia Legends, and if you like WWE games give Day of Reckoning 1 or 2 a shot. The GC had a lot of really great games on it, it's hard to really narrow it down.

Cube games you must buy:

Smash Bros Melee, Metroid Prime 1/2, Zelda Windwaker, Zelda Twilight Princess (G.cube version is better IMO, cube controls), Resi 4, Resi 0, Resident Evil, F Zero GX, Starfox Adventures.

Wii games you must buy:
Metroid Prime 3, Okami, Mario Galaxy, De Blob

Wii games to avoid:
Smash Bros Brawl, Red Steel, Call of Duty 3, Resi 4 Wii, Zelda Twilight Princess (cube version better for those).

NGC Games - Mario Party (4 or 5 are the better ones), the Zeldas (Wind Waker and Twilight Princess*) and Mario Kart: Double Dash.

I would recommend Pikmin and Metroid Prime, but since they're going to be remade for the Wii [http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3170334], I'd hold off on those for now.

*fix-the-spade has a point when he mentions the controls. Plus Link is left-handed as per normal and Hyrule is the right way round, dammit.

If you are having trouble fining Game Cube games, Nintendo are re releasing a lot of them shortly. Titles like Chibi-Robo, Pikmin and Metroid Prime are being developed as part of a Cube Classics line of Wii titles, which currently includes Twilight Princess and Resident Evil 4.

I would recommend just searching ebay or your local game trade in shop. You should find the main cube games there, for a far cheaper price than the Cube Classics range.

Been looking for Eternal Sonata and saw a Link game for over £40, despite the shop in question having more than a few copies.
Funnily enough, the first game Ichose for the Wii was Red Steel...how wrong I was... Went back yesterday.
