So who will you be backing this year?
Do you have any wishes for this year's lineup?
Hopes for Final Candidates?
Personally, I'll be backing mostly Bethesda because of Skyrim, Valve for Portal 2(my personal best ending for a sequel I've seen in a while), and Bioware if Mass Effect 3 is any good.
OK, I know this might be considered Hate Speech but I'm kind of wishing Zynga don't return this year, what with their-
-arguably shady business tactics.
-The stirrup they caused back in 2010 *for those of you that weren't around, Zynga was sending messages to their Farmville users, linking the site and that if they won this, all that voted would get some free stuff (something that very few other developers did), leading to a tonne of new users coming in, voting, making only 1 post, and never coming back.
- Lately the debacle that has been their ripping off of other indie devs (See the Tiny Tower dev thing over in the news section)
Ok, rant over, you can probably skip the paragraph above if you've been on the site for more than 2 years but anyway.
My personal hope for final Candidates would be 2 lesser known devs, something like Insomniac versus Double Fine because most years the top 8 are usually something like Valve vs. Blizzard/ Bethesda/ Ubisoft/ whoever came out with a good game this year that also happened to be one of the major players in the industry(with the final last year being a BIG exception, and even then it was more the site trying to get Notch more publicity).
So that's my opinion, let's discuss this without delving into a flame war before page 4 and try to keep this thread alive before the event itself roles around.
