But if he insists we go back to a natural world, I suggest he logs off of Facebook, moves into the woods/desert/any biosphere away from cities and towns. Without the Government (others have said so before), we'd be a far more barbaric race with no structure and absolutely no order. Problems would hardly ever be solved and we would stagnate. Biologically, pregnancies in what we consider teens are acceptable. before we had what we call modern society, this was the norm.
HOWEVER, our life and enviroment changed. we live much longer (average age was ~20-30 2000 years ago), so there is no need to "make offsprings as fast as possible". we also got more societal concerns, such as school, higher education, finding a job. our life has adopted to the longer life cycle, we can now afford to have no kids till 30 and still live long enough to see our kids move out. What this leaves us, is that technically teen pregnancies are not wrong, however practically it is very undesirable in our current society.

Actually, the man has a point. As modern as we are with all of our gadgets they still don't farm, fish or hunt for us.

We still depend on farmers and fishermen to feed us. So saying we 'could' go back to that if not for goverment and laws etc, isn't exactly wrong.

Sure, the modern way of life is easier, but that way of life is indeed more free.

Actually it is people like his fault. We have machines that can grow plants and pick them almost astronomically. in fact we pick most of the crows by machines, we call them tractors. we process them by machines, we cook them by machines. Fisherding is also being automatizated. We dont hunt, we herd animals, where one person is enough to take care of a 1000 of cows becuase of machinery. in fact if it wasnt for the social taboos of "omg we must go natural the science is the devil" we would be eating food that is mostly artificially grown and identical to real by now. we are sloly movign towards this, but there is massive panic waves in consumer market still form time to time. In fact there are projects in proposition now where food manufacturing is completely autonomous, but noone wants to invest into a product that will cause social uproar becuase think of all the farmers that wont be able to sell their crops.

People need more education. With more education, less people would ask irrelevant Questions if any at all. Julian Assange was asked about his new Haircut more often then anything else because that's so important.

When Countries send Soldiers into other countries, People of both countries should at least know how to find the other country via google. I don't think everyone has to know where to find the "central african republic" although the name may give you a hint; but everyone should know where their own country is.

Everyone should at least have an Idea of the History of their Country. There are People over here who don't know who the last Chanselor was (that's what we call the poor schmuck who babysits our parliament).

Everyone should know why there letters in math. Some of them look weird and everyone should at least know that they aren't magic.

But it's not more free. Subsistence is just that--you have no other priorities other than survival. When you have no advanced technology to make things easier, you're going to be entirely focused on making sure you aren't starving or freezing to death. In a sense, you'd be a sl]ave to your own biological needs, with no time for intellectual pursuits because any time you spend on them is time spent not surviving.

Fuck it ill be the one "freshman arts liberal" or whatever it is im supposed to be to disagree, i think hes got a point, id love to go live in a cabin in the woods for a while hunting deer, fishing and growing my own weed, and be in harmony with nature instead of living in a concrete city that i dont really like earning money for my boss surrounded by unhappy looking people who dont talk to each other (tho that might just be the uk) whilst we all send our planet straight to hell. I dont think all of society should collapse and everyone should revert to this, but its not to be scoffed at either. Modern life seems very artificial and contrived sometimes. I would never completely reject living in a city with all the modern conveniences but id like to get back to nature sometime, at least for a bit.

And that's the beauty of technology--you can do that, right now. Go start a mini-garden! Find a way to raise a chicken or two! Go drive to a spot in the countryside, and hike somewhere! With all those things, you still have a place in adding to societal progress. You wouldn't be doing anything near what the guy on Facebook is suggesting, i.e. complete "natural" anarchy, with no social structure, order, or technology, and a reversal of the progress we made since we invented agriculture over 6000 years ago.
