Finally, after so long, Capcom is finally....

...releasing Super Street Fighter IV for the PC!!!
Shoryuken Article: SSF4 for PC

It has just been confirmed, but no further information, such as release dates have been revealed.

As some of you know, the first field test for the SSF4 arcade edition was just released last week, and for people who didn't know, the arcade systems pretty much use a modified version of Windows XP, so the arcade version brought high hopes to the PC fans that had bought SF4 but were thought to be ignored because of the high piracy rates of the last game.

Most likely the newest addition will be including all of the previous SSF4 content, but may also include any upcoming DLC, or the arcade's inclusion of Yun and Yang to the roster.

So, I'm pretty dang excited, anyone else? feelings/opinions??

UPDATE: And as soon as it was confirmed and hype was rising, it was then deconfirmed =S
Apperently, the person who leaked this information got his facts wrong or something because he released this apology

SSF4 PC Apology

Which loosely translates over to:

We have published previously,
Capcom "Street Fighter 4" PC version is the official launch article,
Found that there were errors.
That I caused you great inconvenience, I apologize.

Further information on the future, we will consolidate.

Id argue a mouse and keyboard would suck for a fighting game like SF, but I have a feeling the people who would get SF on PC would be those arcade stick loving types.

How would that play on PC? WOuldn't it be beyond difficult to control?
Most people who play the PC version either have a fightstick, or a 360 fightpad (or a modded controller)

The 360 fightpad is probably the best bet for it, its all just plug in and play..

Lol I never though about that. I've only used my 360 controller for racing games so far. *puts Street Fighter on to buy list*

just use the keyboard, ..why the hell would you even imagine placing the word "mouse" in the same topic as "fighting game"

OT: I might try it out if it comes to PC. ...I'm not holding my breath to like it. I'm not real into fighting games :p

I dont know how fighting games play on PC. I already own SSFIV...for 360. And I use the 360 controller. Works fine. Even can do Vega's first ultra.

That seems like it'd be....hard. You know I'm really having trouble imagining a fighting game on a computer now. Maybe I'm just pants-on-headed-retarted (yes I needed to say that), but it doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

It's not that hard. Like I said, most people play with either a fight stick, or a controller/modded controller. But even keyboard isn't even really that hard to play with.

Heck, one of the better fighting games, Melty Blood (it beat out BlazBlue, Smash Bros, and other titles for inclusion at Evo this year), is primarily a PC exclusive game and it plays pretty dang close to Guilty Gear.

I got SFIV on PC and the X360 Controller is BEYOND horrible for fighting games (and for that matter for any game requiring precision... played Bionic Commando Rearmed Couch CoOp over Steam and couldn't throw the hook into the right diagonal direction 3/4 of the time)...
I don't know how anyone is supposed to play precision-requiring fighting games with that inaccurate analogue stick or D-Pad... I'd rather take the keyboard with direction keys any day of the week... or better yet get one of those:

Then I guess I am just better than most people. Im fine with this.

d-pad is not that bad really. Depends on the controller in question. I do alright with a PS2 dpad most of the time. For the comp, I got my own dpad controller for playing older emulation games anyway, so it's a none issue for me.

You know whats fun? Using a PS3 pad as a Controller on the PC! With the right driver, all I have to is plug it in with the USB cable. Great for those few games that work better with a controller, or emulating console games.

Hey cool, I might as well buy it seeing as I wouldn't mind another fighting game to my roster....now if only Blazblue would legitimately released on the PC. Oh and I'd need to get a better controller seeing as the D-pad on my controller is of 360 quality of suck. Still not a big deal.

I'm not a big street fighter fan, but it's still a solid game and I wouldn't mind giving it another go.

And geez to the people who seem to think playing fighters on a PC is hard. PC has game pad support ya know, I find it hard to believe anyone would overlook such an obvious thing.

Man first Dissidia 2 and now this, Blazblue PC (legit) would just make my year. So much good game news this past week.

Well, Blazblue PC is legit and already out, its just EU only atm =S

And also, a new update and bad news about SSF4 PC, apparently, the leak was deconfirmed. The source has said he got false info about the game, and has since added up an apology which I added to the original post. So it's either, he was all completely wrong, or Capcom told him not to spill the beans too early and attract his statement, so in closing:

Sigh...why can't we have nice things...

Aw that sucks, stupid Capcom and being way too afraid of piracy. Guess I'll continue to play my arcade version of Continuum Shift.

Ugh, way to get our hopes up and then strike them back down...

Anyway, I think there's a chance that we will hear something about SSFIV on PC at TGS, I have a feeling that Capcom didn't want the announcement coming out prematurely.

Of course, when the arcade version is released, I'm sure someone will leak it onto PC, just as they did with Blazblue:CS.

Oh, for the record, I play with a keyboard. It's really not that hard, the button layout is the same as the fightsticks, the only difference is the arrow keys. It just takes practice. Hell, I can pull out Zangief's moves pretty quickly (although his super/ultra is obviously tougher to do and requires a jump beforehand. I never even play him though).

what happen I though we got fed up of capcom making newer versions of the same street fighter game

Why do we want SSF4 anyway, shouldn't stuff like that be handled as dlc by now rather than

Street Fighter 2 The World Warrior Ex Plus Alpha Championship Edition Turbo Hyperfighting The New Challengers

Don't! They have a scare box thing as a connector for the joystick. I don't know what the piece is really call but it the box that in which the joystick move. That mean that you'll just hinder yourself.

...they work the same as on a console. You plug in a controller (you know, you can plug stuff into a PC) and play normally...
