It would hurt actually... elephant guns kick like a mule (I've actually seen someone dislocate a shoulder from not firing one properly.

Have to point out, Obsidian is glass. Building a sword out of glass is massively impractical, it would just suck.

Hmm... Well ,I'd probably go more or less go with what I'm actually seeking out. I basically want a decent serviceable AR-15, but definitely some goodies to go with it. I haven't really decided which brand of lower receiver, but something like Double Star or DPMS arms are fairly decent. Bushmaster is making some great uppers, So I'd probably go with one of those if I can afford it. I'll probably just stick with the 5.56mm round because that's still the standard, even though people are saying that 6.8mm SPC is the wave of the future. I'll believe that when I see it. Eventually it be nice to get a good holo-sight. I'm liking the ones that EOtech makes, and would probably go with the 16" barrel and an M4 style telescoping stock.

Beyond that, just mostly what I already use. I got my trusty Walther, and a Norinco 12 Gauge, but I might upgrade that to a Mossberg 590. I also need a new knife. You know nothing too fancy, just sharp and practical.

If you mean a real gun, although there probably is a gun out there like the repeater, I'd do for this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Davy_Crockett_(nuclear_device), and have lots of small people to reload it for me quickly so that I can actually fire more than one every day, or however long it is.

Inappropriate how?
Sorry to do this again, but a sword made of diamond wouldn't work that well either, as it is only about 1/25 as tough as steel. So a diamond sword would be pretty brittle. Diamond edging, on the other hand, would work.

Have you ever worked with obsidian? A Katana would snap at one blow.

As for me it would be a Osage Orange bow and Katana made from Titanium or Damascus steel.
