Weird computer issues?

Okay, so not really video game related, but as we don't have a computer section, I figured the majority of the "techy" hang out here, in the Gaming section.

So for the past couple of months, I've been having these weird issues. MySpace for instance, will sometimes redirect to an adware/spyware site. And about twice a day, I will get a popup from Adobe PDF reader that says "Error with reading PDF, program will now exit".

I have an anti-virus program, and nothing has really turned up, besides my "Atapi.sys" file being infected. But I've looked it up, and I've read over and over that it's just a weird glitch or something.

If it's not gaming related, it goes in the Off-topic section.

Anyway, I recommend Spybot - Search and Destroy. It's free and works really well.

Well to start off... Myspace is full of spyware and malware. Your computer probably caught some nasty bug, and it might have messed with your Adobe program.

Just a guess.

My old computer used to take 10 minutes to load up msn, then 10 more minutes to load up Xfire, then 5 minutes to load up in general. Click anything before that and it'll just implode also it had a similar prob to you too, i defragged, virus scanned and cleaned up, and it worked again somehow.

Two applications every Windows install absolutely needs are Spybot: Search & Destroy and Ad-Aware. Get both and do a scan of your drive. Use both, because it's a better way to make sure you're not missing anything.

As for Adobe, sounds like your Windows install is just going senile. Does it take along time to boot your computer? Do you get any other bizarre behaviour issues? Back when I used Windows exclusively, I used to back up my stuff, wipe my entire hard drive, and re-install Windows about once a year to stop issues like that completely.
