weird ways you got achievements.

Team Fortress 2,
There is one pyro achievement that is almost impossible to get the legit way. There is an achievement for lighting a spy on fire who's doing the flick-sigarette taunt.

I was running around behind enemy lines, only to see a bunch of spies doing spycrabbing and stuff. Without thought, i ran into them and started to fry them. Achievement unlocked! I was so insanely happy.

"It's a Trap" in Nazi Zombies. I killed 3 zombies with traps before I ended up getting caught in the mulcher and went down. As soon as it hit me I hear the chiming and the acievement pop up saying I killed 4 zombies, despite no zombies being any where need me.

I went up to go cut Carlito with a knife, but he hits me back down, and knocks me off the platform.

In mirrors edge, I can't remember what the achievement is called, but its the one where you jump onto someone's head and knock them out. I just ran off the stairs a bit quick.

Well actually the achievement makes a degree of sense when you think about it.

The achievement in WoW isn't for eating a lot of food, but for eating a lot of differant TYPES of food.

The distinction is that if you just play like many people your only going to eat so many differant things, and might even subsist for most of your career on summoned mage food. It's an achievement most people are going to only get if they are after it specifically.

That achievement in Alone in the Dark where you have to shoot a goldfish. I was just screwing around, shooting random pieces of trash in the water. I guess I was just really lucky.

The Untouchables achievement in Left 4 Dead. That was so weird.
I joined in the middle of a No Mercy expet finale and played it to the end. I'm fairly sure I got some damage and I think one of us was downed but the game didn't think to care.

In L4D1, i got the achievement for headshotting a hunter while in leap by shooting it, not killing it, and having the AI Francis kill it. I was happy coz that was one of the few achievements i didn't have yet and was just complaining to my friend that i couldn't manage to get it.

For me, it was the chain reaction achievement in GTA4. I was just playing around with some grenades in the middle of an empty street. I accidentally dropped one instead of throwing it. I ran like hell because I didn't have that much health anyway. I cleared the street an I hear an explosion and I think "a car rolled over that" right? It turns out that at least 15 cars blew up at the same time. O.O *bilp "gamerscore, you lucky bastard"*

Mine kind of sucked, because both times I wasn't even near the TV.
First, I got the Modern Warfare 2 "Goodbye" achievement (or whatever it's called) because I left while playing, and my friend grabbed my controller and threw me off a building.
Second, I got the "Flawless Groove" challenge in Rock Band 2 because I paused halfway through a song while playing bass, but when I came back the song had ended and I had 100%. I'm still unsure as to how this one happened.

I can't remember how but I've loaded the last levels of certain stages in Frontlines: Fuel of War and I've gotten achivements for completeing the game level in par time. You got achivements for not dieing a certain amount of times and completeing it under about 10 minutes and you can get those achivenments by loading the last level and playing through.

But I think this was before the update.

Most of the TF2 achievements are very very strange. I remember getting Screaming Eagles where you are supposed to rocket jump to the highest point in the level by rocket jumping then being hit by 2 other soldiers Rockets. Also getting a Sniper with a Crit rocket after being killed is an awesome way of getting an achievement. The killcam shot was him being gibbed, it made me laugh.

Wing and a Prayer in L4D2.

I was playing Swamp Fever with some random dude online, when the event started I ran away as fast as I could with a chainsaw thinking I would get owned in a millisecond.

I was laughing so hard it hurt.

Also said achievement is kinda buggy, you can earn it even when you get hit, or if you're dead.

Burn the Witch in L4D. Playing with a friend, I hear that blood curling cry. We were already dealing with a horde and a tank but I was feelin stupid. So I pull a molotov try to guess where the crying was coming from and gave it a toss. I see a flash of flames come up and think, "Shit I missed" Then I see an even bigger flash and a fire ball heading twoards me. "Ding!" achievement. Then it proceded to rip my compainion to shreds.

I was just playing the first level in MW2, shooting guys across the river, when I got the trophy for killing two people with one bullet.

I'm lucky I got that on the first level without even trying, because it sounds like a trophy that might have been annoying to try to get.

in l4d2 i got an achievement because i hit a tank with a melee weapon and went 2 the escape vehicle

I did that, only I got killed by the tank instead; I guess AI tanks get patiance as well, which explains the odd occasion when we get the tank music play and then it stops after no drama.

Some of the TF2 achievements are a bit buggy: I got the achievement for 3 backstabs for only stabbing 2 snipers (I redeemed this by doing 4 backstabs against a buff banner rush); apperantly got an achievement for launching someone with a rocket and using the shotgun to finish off, although he distinctly hit the low ceiling and landed.

Has anyone got an achievement in a shop with the consoles set up for demonstrations? I don't have any of the current gen consoles, yet I got 2 skill points on Rachet & Clack Future: A Crack in Time playing in HMV. I think the kid behind me might have been a bit impressed.
