One day I decide to go to school hair open (I have blonde, at least shoulder length) at the time. I got couple interesting comments, in this order during the same conversation.
"Looks like a lion's mane"
"Girls like it that"
"You look like a girl"

I found it pretty funny, especially considering the guy who said the second comment said the exactly the same thing when I started keeping my hair ponytailed.
Er, ponytails are MUCH girlier than long hair left down. It just looks odd on a guy.
No offence.
Meh. Someone tells me so after actually seeing me, I might think something of it. And I'm not at all convinced my hair looks any less odd free, if it does now.

So it does look odd? xD

But, seriously, what's the point in growing your hair long if you're just gonna hide it in a ponytail?

If I get any sort of comment it's usually about "how beautiful" my eyes apparently are and how thin I look :|

IF it does!

I don't know, what's the point of keeping cutting your hair when you can just hide it in a ponytail?

This always happens:

"Did you have a haircut?"
"No, it fell out you stupid twat"

Why is it when it is blatently obvious that you had one do people feel the need to ask you if you had a haircut!?

I've been told that I look like Miranda July (which I agree with) but I have also been told that I look like Daryl Hannah in Bladerunner lol XD

Some guy once wrote this about me: "Hi I'm Katie Barr and I like to wear weird clothes because I think I'm alternative, but I'm not, I'm just odd in the nicest way possible"

Thanks Ethan, thanks XD I am never letting him write my personal statement again.

A perfectly good compliment. For a girl. =D

I'm skinny myself by the way, so I can kinda get the feeling.

For appearance's sake?
It's very important nowadays.

Plus, when I see a guy with a ponytail, I immediately think "stoner/waster/loser/douche". I don't mean to be prejudiced - that's just what my mind registers when I see it.

I was nicknamed 'crow' for my appearance by a few people in my old school. Never quite understood why.

Comments at me in regards to physical appearance are either about how short I am, how brown I am, how long my eyelashes are or how bushy my eyebrows are.

My brother once described me as "Small and brown". Kinda like a turd.

"You're adorable! In a nerdy kind of way." This was later clarified to mean in the JD from Scrubs kind of way but I dunno if I'm happy with it yet..

But I once told someone they have pancake skin because it looked, and actually felt, like a pancake. It took them a couple days of me telling them that it was actually a compliment.

I've had several people in the past say I resembled a teddy bear. That's probably because I was fat and tended not to shave. While I still have issues shaving regularly, I've lost a good chunk of weight. I guess that explains why no one has made that comment recently.

I suppose it's not quite appearance as such, but a lot of people comment on my soft skin. My flatmate at uni scratched at my elbows in a fit of drunken jealousy once. It was mostly playful and no damage was done :)

I........didn't say you were.
I just said that that's what I associate with guys with ponytails.

I don't know if it would count as a comment BUUUUUUUUUUUT

A girl I knew in high school grabbed my crotch and loudly asked "Is this thing real?!".
You should have said ''No, it's made of chocolate.'' If she believed, you could ask her to lick it.
The weirdest thing for me would be that somebody once asked if i was emo because i have black hair(?).

I was told I think a couple years apart that I have great eyebrows...by two separate girls. It kind of weirded me out.

I just look like a girl apparently.

Even though I have broad shoulders and am weirdly hairy.

I guess in today's society long hair = girl.
