Here's another Fallout 3 one, and it also includes a Deathclaw!

Was cruising around looking for the Oasis when out of the canyon I was occupying something rocketed skyward, startling the crap outta me. Luckily I'd completed Operation: Anchorage and had the chinese stealth suit fired up, so I got front row seats to this bizarre aerial display. Deathclaw popped into existence near the ground, and immediately skyrocketed fast enough that the delay between hitting VATS button and the game pausing meant the Deathclaw was floating higher than the washington monument (cool view from up there btw). After watching this for a few minutes, I pulled out my sniper rifle and landed a good headshot on the Claw while he was at the peak of his flight. His body fell out of the sky, bounced three times and landed inside a rock.

I have to try this now. Which levels?
Off the top of my head,

don't know if there's any in sonic 1 that would work. might want to try labyrinth zone act three.

SONIC 2,
metropolis zone act two, I think

SONIC 3,
marble garden act one (two doesn't do this, I think)
ice cap act one
sandopolis act two

WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN?
basically, when you look down, the screen moves your position right to the top of it. when you stop looking down and IMMEDIATELY jump after, it registers your position as being above the screen, and it doesn't like it. This technique can be used to skip some areas if you move right when it happens, and is often used in speedruns.

I think in this video by some fucking nerd guy who's awesome [http://www.poetv.com/video.php?vid=23047] it's demonstrated, but not right at the start. the whole video is worth watching, though, really interesting from a human psychology standpoint

This is technically Sonic & Knuckles, not Sonic 3, but thanks all the same.

I've got two:

1) I received Call Of Duty 4, among other PC games, for Christmas '07, and I stayed up all night getting a taste of each of them. I pop COD4 in, already anticipating it as the most entertaining of all. I start a campaign, and all of the character models, (Even the dogs and chickens.) are solid black. This makes the scene in the beginning, where you're looking through Al-Fulani's eyes as he gets assassinated, far more bizarre because you can't tell what anyone's expression is. (I know there was a patch that fixed this, but it felt like a glitch at the time.)

2) All of Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly. In my opinion, this was the first Spyro game that sucked in every way imaginable, its flaws especially glaring because it followed Year of the Dragon. Regardless, cone of the many, many glitches involved charging at "locked" parts of the level, (Closed off by way of gates.) and being able to run right through the gates, entering the closed parts. The terrible thing was that the game never crashed. It was like it anticipated making a mess of itself. This was just one bug among so many, and I can't even begin to describe them all. I only remember selling the game back as soon as I could.

Things like that happen to me all the time, but they're only funny some of the time. Like when I downloaded Conker's Bad Fur Day (yes, illegally. I'm a bad person) and sometimes his body would disappear and all that would be left were floating disembodied eyes. I played through the poo boss like that, and WON. Another funny one is when I was playing a Sonic game on my friend's Saturn, and instead of running through the loop he ran physically THROUGH it and into the water, or whatever. Needless to say, that killed me.
