A friend of mine said pretty much the same thing, i was amazed at how blunt he thought a game that is meant to be scary doesn't give you a way to defend yourself except run hence making it scary.ThatLankyBastard said:I'm very open-minded when it comes to games...
...but for the sake of the thread, heres a quote from my friend!
"That's just plain retarded. It doesn't even have guns!"
-when asked about Amnesia:The Dark Descent
Yes, I walk in the presence of idiocy...
I kinda feel the same way playing Fallout...Which is why I sided with the NCR in New Vegas, because they were the greatest chance of rebuilding my wasteland of a country. I do still play wasteland games tho, because laws are generally unheard of outside the few settlements in existence: I can scavenge whatever I want from all the unclaimed territories.Midnight Crossroads said:All post apocalyptic games are a massive turn off for me for the simple reason that I hate the idea that I'm walking around on the dead husk of human civilization, and that my character's life amounts to scavaging trash to survive. Nothing makes me want to turn the game off more than a rusty Kalashnikov and realizing my health items are stale food I found in a broken refrigerator.
I can see that. Along with some inaccuracies within the city. I liked the game but after playing New Vegas the issues with the setting really do stand out a lot. New Vegas isn't perfect but they do seem to be getting better (there are colors!)Defense said:The Fallout 3 DC, yes. I can forgive a game that with a main palette of brown and gray as long as it still has atmosphere or even a good art style, but all I could see was ruins portrayed in the most uneventful manner possible.santacolia said:You hate... DC?Defense said:Yep. The setting added a lot to the fact that all of my experiences with the game bored me to tears.Judgement101 said:Wow....really? The setting? Really?Defense said:I didn't play Fallout 3 because I hated the setting.
OT: I couldn't stand FFXIII due to being a messy blob of fragmented story bits.
... I don't like you.vongola_storm_G said:I didnt buy Final Fantasy 9 because I hate anime/cartoony graphics
but like anime itself weirdy enough.
Your avatar it pure win. Go Nerd-Bug!scyrin said:what was YOUR weirdest reason to not play a game
i cannot play games like fallout or Minecraft because it is overwhelming... there are so many things you can do in the game and i just get overwhelmed by the possibilities i have.
so what are yours?

OT: Amnesia. Because you get no weapons - SERIOUSLY VONGOLA I DO NOT LIKE YOU - to defend yourself with.
No what I said to you was in the middle of the sentence I was saying. The defend yourself part was like I never said the part in CAPS at all. A bit of a joke.vongola_storm_G said:To defend myself???Justin Tarrant said:... I don't like you.vongola_storm_G said:I didnt buy Final Fantasy 9 because I hate anime/cartoony graphics

Ah dam my eye sight and my small up all night brain :-@ i was thinking about bitting the bullet and getting it on ps3 network along with 7 and 8 because my friend keeps nagging about it.Justin Tarrant said:No what I said to you was in the middle of the sentence I was saying. Now go play Final Fantasy 9 before I find you.
If that's your thing, I imagine it's a good enough reason.Sebenko said:That's actually a good reason.Hyper-space said:The interface in Mass Effect 2. Mind you that i haven't played the first one so i was new to it all, but there was just something that bugged the hell out of me.
My reason for not playing ME2 (at least until it was dead cheap)?
Not being able to gay it up with Garrus.
Don't get 8. It will just deture you from Final Fantasy and all JRPGs unless you are a committed fan of them. Plus 7 looks like ass so if you are one of those who hate shitty graphics try to steer clear. 9 is defiantly the best of the PS1 Final Fantasies. Followed by Tactics.vongola_storm_G said:Ah dam my eye sight and my small up all night brain :-@ i was thinking about bitting the bullet and getting it on ps3 network along with 7 and 8 because my friend keeps nagging about it.Justin Tarrant said:No what I said to you was in the middle of the sentence I was saying. That's what I do. Unless a game is ridiculously cheap, I'll only consider purchasing if I feel like I can spend a good few hours playing it.Drakmeire said:I tend to do this one more than I should but "I don't think I could spend 80 hours on a game like that."
