Half way through your ramblings I was wondering where you were going, anyone from the US could tell you that if your in NJ you don't want to be there.
I don't mind NJ so much since I've lived here all my life, except the one year I moved out to Lancaster, PA for art school. I just can't stand living in South Jersey. In North Jersey, I was able to get around on my own easier because I don't have a car...yet.

... Did you just review a town?

Neat.
I could suppose you can say I did a review for it. It was more of me being bored and thinking about where I live.

Hah! I laugh derisively at your pain!

But srsly why are you living there if you dislike it so much? Are you still living with your parents? And to be honest it sounds like it's not such a bad place. I grew up in a town of 6,000 people in the middle of the East Yorkshire countryside which I didn't leave until I was 18 (and most British people don't even know that there IS an East Yorkshire). So there, that'll learn ya' to complain, my teenage years were much more tedious than yours. You just have to make your own fun, I'm sure you'll get through it.

Having said that, I live in London now so I guess I can't really complain anymore.
I moved back home from PA when I decided to go back to a college. Which was probably one of the worst ideas I could've done. Moving back home after living on your own then moving back in with your parents... Holy shit. But that's another topic.

I live in a small farming town in Illinois. It's about 15 miles east of Saint Louis. I am surrounded by corn. My biggest problem? There are too many damn people. We have a small area of houses to the left and people on the road all the time. And more houses are popping up everyday. There used to only be about 4 houses and 10 people here. Now there are at least 30 houses and 50 people.
I have that problem here too. They keep building up houses but businesses keep failing, houses are up for sale like every street of my development. Or they're in foreclosure. Why keep building? I mean wtshit. It's really annoying. But it really wasn't what my rant/rambling was trying to cover.

I just miss being in a bigger city with more things to do than just shop and eat. If I wanted to do anything remotely fun, I'd have to go to Philadelphia. My parents are too iffy about me going to the clubs due to all the shootings and deaths. I don't blame them...too much.

@OP: Pfff! If you think thát is boring, I live in a little shithole in Holland called Waardenburg [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waardenburg]. There is almost nothing here, a supermarket (where I work), flower shop and Chinese take-away restaurant, that's all. It's also in the middle of the Dutch Bible Belt, where girls can only wear long skirts, crap like that. Bottom line is, it's so boring here it's deadly.

I live in Frankfurt now (oh yeah baby), but I come from a little town that had the highest youth crime rate in the county just because it was so depressingly boring. Boy am I glad I escaped that place.

Ugh, that sucks. The long skirts that is. I guess you can't really be a skirt chaser if you barely see anything above their ankles.

That's pretty bad when you have to resort to violence to fill the void of boredom. Luckily for me, all the crime happens outside my city. When a cop pulls over a car, half the damn police force is out cause hardly anything happens here.

I live in a suburb in Ireland. There is mind-bogglingly little to do. The only thing people do for fun around here is sport and bush-drinking, and I neither play sports nor drink.

I live in Manchester in the UK. Estimated population of 2,600,000 and centre of awesome in the north of England. Two of the biggest universities in the country are here as is the BBC. Erm, what else. Lots of the usual city stuff, but the student population means that the nightlife here is rather varied and, for the most part, affordable. I live in student flats which is a bit lame, but I get to live in the centre of an awesome city so I don't mind.

Yeah, anything south of Ocean County and you're stuck in the Pineys and AC as the only attraction other than beaches and rivers. Philly is definitely sub-par compared to New York.

I live in an area just north of Birmingham (UK's Second City!) called the Black Country, so named for the smoke that used to cloud over the sky during the Industrial Revolution. It is crap. Pretty much nothing to do unless you want to fork out a fiver to get to Birmingham's shopping centres or amenities, and another fiver to get home again. Not too far from Walsall (birthplace of Jerome K Jerome, Noddy Holder of Slade, and Colin Charvis, former England Rugby Union player). Also not a great place.

However, I only really consider the area to be home insofar as most of my friends and family live there. I never really felt at home here, but most of my time is spent at university in Leeds (I've just come back to the Black Country for Easter), and Leeds is absolutely awesome. Everything I want or need in a place is literally a ten minute walk from my flat into the city centre, and it's a really nice, beautiful looking place. Completely different to Birmingham, so that's definitely where my home is now.

EDIT: Sorry Gallatea, but Leeds is much better than Manchester. I've been to Manchester a few times, but Leeds is the better city, definitely the "centre of awesome" in the North of England. Manchester's great too, but not better than Leeds :).

Exactly. There's hardly anything to do over in Philly either. Possibly hit a few museums and walk down South Street for some shopping and cheesesteaks. At least they have a couple good venues I go to for shows. I'll be there again for two upcoming shows. Funny thing is, they're both inside of a church. Since it's a smaller venue. Not like going to the TLA to see Pierce The Veil, like I want to (too bad the damn show is sold out and I have no one to go with). AC is pretty lame, but they plan on building up a night club. Driving 40 minutes to dance and get slightly tipsy? Ehhh... Wildwood is better anyway, but that doesn't open until it gets close to the summer season.

I live in Chatham-Kent, Ontario (cookie to anyone who has actually heard of it, my undying sympathy and pity if you're actually from here). We have an International Truck and Engine plant, an ethanol plant, and a Wal-Mart.Bonus for my lungs, Chatham-Kent is in a little bowl, and we are tucked right between the factories in Flint and Detroit and the chemical plants in Sarnia. However, it's home, and I'm probably gonna miss the place after I've left.

Gig Harbor, Washington. Population 7,000

Cons: cold and rainy with like, three months total of weather over 40-fahrenheit. We just recently got a Costco, and my elementary school classes never exceded twenty kids. It's pretty much a hybrid of the suburbs and the sticks.

Pros:

Pretty much the view from my eighth-grade block class window.

That's a beautiful view Cylem! It looks really nice there, especially with the mountain in the background. Lovely. Simply lovely.

Slightly tipsy in AC? You're doing something wrong, lol. Go to the Harrah's casinos, get a rewards card(really easy to get comped rooms), do a little pre-gaming, and away you go.

It's funny the different attitude towards Wildwood from someone who didn't grow up at the beach. To locals around me, and myself included, Wildwood is the antithesis of New Jersey, and why our state gets such a rough reputation(New haircut youtube guy, Seaside Tony, etc.). It's beautiful beachfront in Wildwood, but the crap on the boardwalk and the weekend visitors who treat it like their own garbage can keep me from bothering to make the drive.

At least it's cool there's another person from NJ on here; sorry you're stuck in the boonies.

I use to live in Auckland in New Zealand. Now I'm in Dublin in Ireland, I know your pain.

Sorry to anyone from here, but there is nothing to do. (Note: I'm too young to drink and even when I'm older I'm not going to so don't say pubs)

Edit: Say hi to Courage the Cowardly Dog for me!

Not to be rude but *antithesis. <3
ANYWAY~
I was kidding about getting tipsy. Hell, I don't even drink. I just remember reading in the Courier that they're planning on opening up a new night club in the next few months. Well, they did just open an indoor waterpark in Berlin, so I might check that out at some point. I agree about Wildwood and pretty much any visitor that comes into NJ. Pretty much tourist annoy the hell outta me. I won't even get to the slow ass out of state drivers on the Turnpike. Holy shit, they could cause an accident. Why are you driving 65 in the far left lane? Take your ass to the right lane and let me go about doing 75+ please. Thanks.

Glad to find another Jerseyian. -waves- North or South?
