4 days of continual rainfall in Northern Virginia with thunderstorms and rainfalls predicted all the way through Sunday, everything has gone to shit. Just saw more than 10 ft of water piled up at the foot of a ramp of a highway lined up more than 5 miles on the detour (luckily I escaped that as I didn't need to go on to the highway).

Combined with the heavy grey clouds, the red evening sun has created a hue of brown, poo coloured light, and looking at my window, it feels like I'm staring at an endless see of....well, shit.

For discussion value: Has anyone else been experiencing such a week?

So this is what it must feel like to live in London. [/cheapshot]

Here in North Texas we've had just the opposite, it hasn't rained in months, we're having the worst drought and the hottest summer in something like 30 years.
Luckily the heats finally broken, so its not 105 degrees (Fahrenheit) every day, but its still pretty bad.

Still better than the complete bs super hot and humid days that were around prior to the current weather.

Nope, It's just been raining a little here. The temperature has also gone down a little so the long sleeves are back on.

I try not to let the weather kill my good mood, not like I can control the weather... yet.
Incidentally, we've had relentless rain in the NW of England. Not that it surprises me. :)

well it has cooled off SEVERLEY here in tucson, so it's now 95-100 instead of 115. And it has been a humid heat... thank goodness it's cooling down and drying up.

I'm actually in Northern Virginia, and my basement is leaking like crazy. My entire yard has also turned into a marsh. So yeah I'm having a week similar to yours.

We got rain for about 3 days straight here in Vermont. Wasn't heavy, just continuous light rain.

Turned my backyard into a damn marsh.

Today it didn't rain, hopefully it stays that way.

actually a good deal of east and south texas have been so dry, having been missed entirely by any potential rain that they might have gotten (with the gulf hurricane that did a massive u-turn going towards louisiana then doubling back on mississippi and the rest of the southeast coast) that they've had random wildfires that have done some pretty bad damage themselves. its been reported at least a few people have already been caught in the fires and died.

As a Londoner... yes, I can attest to that, get soaked above ground, get broiled underground. The London Underground is the most deplorable public transport service in existence. Bob Crowe can go fuck himself. (Separate points, but who cares, it's still crap, and he's still a dickhead.)

You, you and you... two things. One... in London, we're surrounded by bankers/wankers (never know how to spell that word) looking smug and we're not allowed to tote shotguns, blow a horn and call a hunt. And two, at least we don't have to deal with any accents, and even if we do, the roadworks drown it out! =P

...

Bring it, bitches! May the UK Escapist regional wars commence!

It's around 70 degrees Fahrenheit right now. There's a gentle breeze in the air, with just a few clouds rolling by. /Fuck yeah Tennessee

Such a summer ...

Now luckily I wasn't in the path of the water, but the city is a valley and all commerce is on the south end. Living on the north end made it difficult to get food.

You'd've thought we were invade by vikings with all of the pillaging. I hate getting shit stolen.

This. More than a solid of +100 degree weather (also Fahrenheit, obviously). Plastic was melting in people's cars around here. People got so acclimated to it I actually saw some people walking around in coats and sweaters when it hit 77 the other day.

Damn dude, you do deserve some sympathy. The most I have to bear is a long commute and ruined car floor mats.

Being a Liverpool fan, I feel I can represent the Merseyside. Although the best I have seen anyone speak of the city of Liverpool is that they didn't get their hub caps stolen, and that it was a good day they didn't have to fight off a scouse for their wallets.
