Happy birthday! and congrats on the 1000th post!
I think for me, one of my most amazing moments (aside from anything mushy and the like) was when I went to see Alexisonfire at the Camden Barfly. Sold out from minute one of going on sale, it was completely packed in the smallest venue, everyone was singing along and it was just so intense, then by the end of the night the band had ended up in the mosh pit and the audience had ended up on the stage. Truly awesome. It was like losing yourself!

Other than that there are some other awesome moments - the very first time I got to be guestlisted for something - the first time I met one of my favourite bands - the first time I worked with one of them - I dunno.

There are some other greats, like this one visit I went to France with my bestmate and just sitting with him on the beach was amazing. It was like, the most relaxed and chilled I ever was and all that mattered was being there. Epic.

A weird thing happened to me this weekend which put me in an awesome mood.

I went drinking with a friend who's never been into this city before, and as I was showing him back to the train station he got distracted and ran off to harass some street performers. This duo just happened to be doing a rendition of one of my favorite songs, so though my friend ran off again I stayed and listened for a while. After the song was over I apologized for my friend, and they were really nice about it. They played more stuff by my favorite artists, and they were really good too. After a while they figured out that I'd missed my bus and graciously offered me a ride home. Also it seems that it was just one of the guys' birthdays and he's the same age as me. I got to talk a lot with him since he's the one who gave me a ride home.

In short I serendipitously made some friends \/

Surviving! Existence has thrown many a wayward accident my way, and I still have a pulse after all of it. But on more specific occassions, I have a tie between the day I first wore glasses (Fixing 5 years of terrible vision, crippling migranes and general shittyness, and completing NaNoWriMo for the first time (Admittedly that was the only time I managed to complete it, two more years on. >.>)

My happiest moment? That's a tough one, but it was either the day I gathered enough courage to ask out a female friend of mine (that I've known pretty well for roughly 4 years, thus, breaking the whole "friend zone" thing/myth), or the first date we had together.

Other than that I got nothing. I haven't really had an eventful life (yet).

Two days ago I got so insanely drunk I could not even sit up. It was four in the morning and most of the people had gone to bed. The few of us that were left decided to bring all the booze that was left and get completely wasted. Said and done.

Prior to this we had been dancing with nothing but blankets around ourselves and we had been telling extremely dirty jokes all night.

It simply was a very good night.

Going to Madison square gardens to see the New York Rangers vs Vancouver Canucks with my buddies was pretty damned awesome. Also, my dad and I are going to the winter classic to see Pittsburgh penguins vs Washington Capitals. Its going to be epic

Speaking of RATM, the success of the Xmas number 1 campaign from last year was also pretty awesome. (This was probably what actually resulted in them touring the UK and headlining at Download.) Felt great to be able to deliver a little "fuck you" to pop music.

One beautiful night I woke up at about 3:00am with an idea. I found a way to manipulate magnetic fields to effectively create monopoles for use in a very specific purpose (which I'm afraid I cannot divulge.) A discovery is like reaching the top of a mountain and falling in love at the same time. The amazing thing was that I wasn't even thinking on the matter, I simply woke up with a brilliant idea. I need not say something like "meeting her" for I have surpassed even that remarkable emotion. The average man will tell you that the greatest emotion is called "love," a man of science will tell you that the greatest emotion is "eureka."
