I went to school with a girl who is now, in all practical ways, a sex slave. She has a bad heroin addiction, and her dealer also happens to be the person she lives with. She cleans his house, fuck him and his friends, and isn't permitted to speak unless spoken to. From what I've heard, she has one pair of cloths and isn't even allowed to leave the house without him with her. He's achieved this through a combination of drugs and mental/physical abuse.

People know about this, and so far, most people just seem to laugh/joke about it. I've spent my whole life not getting involved with other people's problems, but I really feel like I could and should do something to help here. So should I do something, or make jokes about this poor girl like most of my friends seem content doing?

Any ideas?

call the cops, report it, all you can do legally, if it was me and i cared about the girl enough to risk my own life, id kill him. but she still be a drug addict willing to sell her soul for drugs, so all you would do is kill one guy for another guy to take his place, i grew up in a poor drug ridden neighborhood my parents were drug addicts(meth in this case). 95% of the time its a lost cause, shes doomed to be a drug addict whore who will do what she can to get her fix.

the only real option you can do for her salvation is to replace him, or at least to replace his purpose supplying her with drugs, but than she be a shell of a person drug addict who has a marginally better life. the odds of some one becoming clean and staying off drugs like meth and heroin are less than 20%, and in her case i would guess almost 0 if she has gone down that far.

and i speak from person experience, as i said, i spent most of my life in a meth house in a poor mexican neighborhood in southern California.

and even if you were able to get her clean, your looking at years of work to get her back into a stable mind set. don't pursue this if your not willing to devote your time into fixing this person

God damn it this world sucks.

Lol no. That would have a very bad outcome and even if you succeed in getting her out then what? Just do what everyone else is saying and tip off the cops or something she may well go to gaol but it's not meant to be a punishment, it's meant to be rehabilitation. Which it sounds like she needs more than anything.

also, im just going to assume his residence is in a shitty part of town, odds are the cops will be almost useless in this, they cant arrest him and set her free on your world alone, and if hes in a shitty part of town, majority of the homes are drug users any ways and hes just a drop in the ocean.

no, that is terrible advice. It doesn't matter how bad her life is, you don't risk yours. As many others have suggested and as you have done, getting the police involved was the best choice. Have faith in the legal system and try not to feel guilty for whatever consequences may result. You did the right thing

I hate cops, but even I would be the one to call them anonymously about this situation. Enslaving another human being in any way shape or form is cruel. As much as I can joke about things, this is a serious matter and needs to be put to a stop, and if you can do it, don't hesitate.
Even if she never knows who did it, she'll be thankful in the end, or she'll never realize it and kill herself, but either way you're giving her a way out by doing this. If you don't and she dies from it you're just as responsible for not saying/doing something.
But by no means confront the dude. Trust me on this one, let the ones with legal rights to shoot first go in the front door.

Every time I go near that house the guys start staring at me. I was her best friend back in school so they knew me when she was first starting to get hooked.

never said it was good advice, but its the only thing that will work other than luck. odds are, this guy and this chick live in a shady party of town, if thats the case, the cops are not going to do jack shit, at best when they do there patrols in the area, they might make sure to look at his place to see if hes dumb enough to do some thing illegal enough in there view to get a search warrant.

one thing is tell her to ask her boyfriend for an up in her heroine and stockpile what she then when she/you call the cops she can ween herself without going cold turkey if you care you do not put her thought what a Vietnam vet who spent a year in a Vietnamese prison camp where he was torchered daily, he called heroine withdrawal worse than torture. but honestly there is probably no way to do this with out getting her to do it on her own, you put him in jail she will bail him and they will run away together.

Drop a tip to the police about a house with abuse and what appears to be drugs. Make sure you let them know the girl is key. If she has family they may not know where she is. Let the cops handle it. But they need to know before they can act.

they won't care. as far as the police are concerned, she is another drug addict to be locked up. she wont survive in prison long and its practically a death sentence since she will become a sex slave of another inmate if she doesn't just get stabbed on the first day.

But at least you tried to help. Who knows she may get lucky and actually get the help she needs.

never did i once say it was a good idea, its a horrible idea that will most likely get you into jail or dead, or both, but its the only coarse of action that will have any sort of results, other than luck, and fully explained my self in my post. and im no idiot teen speaking out on angst, i lived most of my life in mexican slums full of drug addicts, nor am i a teen for that matter.
