-I got yelled at by a freshman that I don't know shit about how a fucking backstage works because I'm on cast and its not the same. To explain, I was on cast for the first time EVER for a play at my school- 11 times before that, I've been on the technical/running crew, and for 5 of those shows, as stage manager (the highest rank before assistant director or technical director). So, my experience isn't worth shit (thanks, fucking freshman.).

Response: "I'm sorry, I didn't know that a fucking stage manager wouldn't know how to run tech. Thanks, Mr. Freshman. Why don't you educate me with all your years of experience."

Probably not the best response, but it would've gotten your point across.

Seriously, don't bother.

I realise high school seems incredibly important at the time but take it from someone who's long since graduated:

After it's over, you will realise everything you worried about was the most insignificant part of your life.

There's a lot of pressure to act a certian way when you're a teenager but whether you do or you don't it won't make a blind bit of difference to the rest of your life.

P.S. I never had a girlfriend in high school either and I just got married last month. Things generally work out

My advice for all of this is to talk to someone about it. Anyone. I think people underestimate how much talking can help, because half the problem is the build up of emotions. I was depressed once too, and I just let it all out to someone, crying it out. It helps, it really does. If no one will listen to you just ask someone here on the Escapist, I'll listen if you want.

You need to turn down the passive aggression and turn up the active aggression.

Be loud and proud, whether it's right or wrong.

Your grandmother would notice you, you could have made an example of some bumbling idiot freshman that still thinks the world starts as soon as they arrive, you wouldn't really have to be depressed because you'd be venting in every direction any time anything came up, you'd catch everyone's eyes whether you like it or not, and you'd have gotten lots of help after you slammed it down and wrecked it on purpose.

What are they gonna do? Beat you up? When you're older you will hope all your ass kickings are just physical.
