I gotta say I fucked up, big time. I mean selling my wii, and getting a ps3. At the time (4 years ago) it was a great idea, The wii was giving nothing but shovel-ware, with no games that looked good. The ps3 on the other hand, was getting some good exclusives (I had a 360 since launch, and still do) But now I see what the wii got and is getting, and realize the mistake I had made.

With a ps3 and 360, I have pretty much only serious games, sure not all of the games I own are like this. Such as Brutal Legend, and banjo Kazooie, plus the kinect. But other then that every game I own is too serious, I just want to play something colorful, Like the mario games, kirby or Donkey Kong. I'm also a bit sick of just RPGs and FPS games. The next few games that are coming out that I'm excited for are, Infamous 2, LA Noire, and Brink.
-
All of those games are your regular serious game, with the exception of brink.(I still have no idea what that game is but damn it looks good) Sure those games look great, and probably will be, but I want to play something else. Now with the ps3 I can get Little Big Planet 2, which I will soon, as well as de blob 2 for the 360. But sadly those are it, in some ways I want to sell my ps3 for a wii, but instead I'll go through this gen with it, and when the next gen of consoles hit, I'll be going with Nintendo and Microsoft.
-
Sure I'd like all 3 but I dont have the money, and I have all my friends and the exclusives I favor on the 360. ( Not saying the playstaion doesn't theres a few but I'm not biggest fan for theirs.) Which is also why I'm getting the 3-ds soon, sure the launch games look, meh but the ds games already out are great.

TLDR; Pretty much I complained for a whole paragraph about selling my wii for a ps3. And games are too serious and I want just plan fun again.

Wiis arent that expensive. Nintendo pretty much tiles their floors with them at this point. Just get another one, or a DS.

I never really bought the wrong console and wanted a new one. I looked at each one and knew what I wnated. Besides, after the abomination of Drake of the 99 Dragons I've never been able to go back to an xbox console, and the wii looked like (and still is) grabage game line up on the whole.

Yeah, they have fun games, but for me, I find fun in serious games, so the games for the Wii arnet that important. I'd really only get one if I needed a way to play my Gamecube games, and even then I have a gamecube (though I havent played it in a while, and would actually have to hope its still in my dad' storage unit and the laser isnt busted.

W/E you do don't sell another system again, it is always a stupid decision. Also I guess make use of the kinect stuff. I'm big into shooters and serious rpgs and stuff but I'm still drooling over Kinectimals.

dude you have to play donkey kong country returns somehow. Just replay the demo at gamestop over and over again. It's certainly the best game on the wii but it might be one of the best games this generation. man I love that game...

Wont a 3DS and a Wii set you back roughly the same? I know that personally I'd go for the stationary option, because I've never been a fan of handhelds, and the only ones I've owned was the Gameboy Color and the PSP...

As for the most fun games for your money, I say what I always say: the N64... It has be best fun games, it just does. I know some people say it's nostalgia, but I can STILL pick up new titles for the console that I've NEVER been in touch with before, and find it's a blast.

And if all else fails, there is Minecraft...

This same sort of withdrawal happened to me when I was forced to give up the family Wii to go to college. I still have my Xbox, but there comes a point where I just want to play something colorful and well put together.

I've only really found maybe three worthwhile wii games, but I'm okay since it's not my wii and I can play gamecube stuff on it instead,

Anticipation for learning the truth is always better than knowing the truth.

Called hype, and if you've been here for a bit you know the Escapist has a habit to ***** about hype.

I don't like my Wii. Only games I play on it are Goldeneye 64 and Twilight Princess, which only last so long (Goldeneye's multiplayer sucks eggs and Twilight Princess is... very awesome but not eternal). The whole "shovelware"? Still happening, happening a lot.

If you want nonserious, colorful console games, give Viva Pinata a shot.

Sounds like you need a DS. I'm a staunch PC gamer, but even I have to give the edge to the DS as my favorite platform of all time.

A non-serious fun game for xbox 360 eh?, Try out crackdown and viva pinata, both cheap as chimps, a lot of fun and are fairly easy to come by.
