I don't have a fun, contrarian opinion on Undertale and Deltarune they're really good games. Or, well, they're really good at exactly two things that overall, they're really good games. Those two things being writing and music, of course. Actually, they serve as kind of a testament just how far these can take you. I mean, everything else is mostly competent. The character design is mostly competent. The combat is mostly competent. The world design is mostly competent. But it'd be nothing without its razor sharp writing and its effortlessly catchy music. Toby Fox is a guy who knows very well what he's good at and how to make the most of it.
