After doing some work in school about how I see what my culture has done for me, I felt rather humbled by my country Wales and would like to know how many Escapist's are Welsh.

If your not Welsh please do not be afraid to post, maybe you could say what you think of Wales (be nice :p) and even if you've heard of us

No offense to countries outside the UK, I just don't think Wales is that well known compared to England and Scotland.

Born in Griffithstown outside Pontypool. Left with parents following work in 88. Now live in Bristol.

My tail starts wagging and I stand up on my hind legs and start whining as soon as I see the severn crossings on the M4 tho :p

I used to be able to say that.

Anyway, I'm Welsh and I still live in Wales.

Honestly, I don't know much, but considering I have a Welsh family background (though mostly Scottish and Irish ancestors) I can't say anything bad about it. May I ask what caused you to develop more respect for Wales?

Well, pardon the pun, but every Welsh person I've ever met has been pretty sheepish. Or incredibly annoying.

I was born in London and are currently living in Hereford which is on the English side of the border, although I seem to be the only English kid in my school xD

Half my family are from Wales (I have a very big family), and I visit so much I practically live there. The Gower Peninsula is my absolute favourite place, specifically the town Of Mumbles, sort of near Swansea.

I love all the traditions of Welsh culture, singing, a stubborn national pride, and the fantastic accent.

My principal in school was from wales. Everyone thought he was Scottish and he got really pissed off about it.

Though he does have a "Scottish" last name as far as I am concerned. are there a lot of Mcwhatever's in Wales? I thought all the Mc's were Scottish as all O'whatever's are Irish.

p.s. hooray for Canada.

I'm scared of Wales and its passive nature compared to the messes we get into with Scotland and Ireland. I know, it should really be the opposite.

I'm currently at Uni in Wales (Aber to be precise) and being English, I must admit I had some trepidation. However, it's all OK :D

You Welsh aren't as weird or as unpleasant as we like to pretend on the other side of the border, in fact all the Welsh people I've met here have been ace! Theres only a rare bit friendly rivalry or banter, and I'm almost used to hearing people talk in Welsh :D

I've heard of this place a few times. Mainly from watching Dirty Sanchez :: The movie.

The guy was from south wales.

Overall, I don't know anything about the place. I kind of want to go see what it's like down there.

I'm not Welsh, but Wales is a nice place. Lots of tasty lambs...
One comment like this was to be expected. Whenever I mention that I'm Welsh to English people the first thing say is about sheep. Instead of denying it, I embrace it and joke along with them.
