I'm not Welsh, but Wales is a nice place. Lots of tasty lambs...
One comment like this was to be expected. Whenever I mention that I'm Welsh to English people the first thing say is about sheep. Instead of denying it, I embrace it and joke along with them.
Somebody who doesn't hate me for saying things about sheep!

I'm half-Welsh on my mother's side, from Cilfrew. Alas, I don't have an accent, spending most of my life in Kent and Durham.

I'm afraid to go to Wales, because I'd be definately murdered the moment step out of the train. Possibly by a recreational murderer in camouflage pants.

Anyway, bad jokes aside, could you honorable welshmen explain to me, just why have such odd ideas born?

That sounds hilarious but I'm not sure what you mean? I guess the Welsh are seen as a lot of secular village dwellers that live as coal miners in the 19th century, thats the general stereotype...I find it funny though.

Wales is a part of the UK and... that's about all I know of it.
In the Thursday Next novels, Wales is a separate state (kind of like West and East Germany before 1990), which I thought was pretty funny.

I live in America but I do have Welsh in me,
Why, did you eat one?

I'm from England and I don't really know what to say about it. I've only been twice and that was just driving and mainly staying at a Uni my friend was at. Is there anything in Wales worth knowing/ seeing?

Born in Griffithstown outside Pontypool. Left with parents following work in 88. Now live in Bristol.

My tail starts wagging and I stand up on my hind legs and start whining as soon as I see the severn crossings on the M4 tho :p
Oh wow. I'm also Griffithstownian... Well, Sebastopolian, but they're basically the same place...

Go Wales! Not from there myself, Irish. But we're all Celts aren't we? Also the Welsh accent sounds a bit like the North Cork accent. (And the Indian accent, come to think of it) Still though, keep on being quietly awesome! (Irish are loudly awesome)
You are aware that there isn't just one Welsh accent?

It would seem quite a lot of people jest about the welsh being eager to murder people. Including Yahtzee.
This iw what I have gatered from fragments of British media that reach me. Mostly Top Gear and Jeremy Clarkson. So I know it's not seriousm but I was wondering if there's a reason for it.

I'm Welsh. I've never been there before though. I believe it was my great-great grandfather that came to the US. Still we have one of the coolest flags. How many other flags have a dragon on them?

Oh yeah, the Cardiff accent differs significantly from the rural one for example, I'm just talking about the stereotypical 'bouncy' accent.
Good, I was just checking. I hate that the stereotypical Welsh accent is the South Wales accent; it's just so horrible...
