Were you ever embarrassed to play a game/watch a movie/read a book/listen to a song, etc. I'm kind of embarrassed to play this Xbox live indie game called alpha squad. The game is pretty decent but the embarrassing part is that the game is perverted and loaded with fanservice. A lot of the girls wear skimpy, revealing outfits. There is this girl who is like your commander or your debriefer or something that has large breasts and when you go to save, there is a drawing of her in a bathtub with bubbles covering her breasts and her leg covering her vagina. When you load the game, you have 3 save slots and the save slots are pictures of 3 different girls in provocative outfits. Lastly, you can save girls in the game and when you save them, they are in your sanctuary which is a bedroom or hotel room that you can view in the pause menu. All of the cinematic graphics of the game is anime style and it is all done by someone on deviantart called genzoman. Here is what I'm talking about for those who want a visual aid although this trailer only scratches the surface of this game's embarrassing perverseness.

Edit: I can't get the video to work, just Google alpha squad trailer if you really want to see what I mean.

I'm embarrassed to:

-Talk about my original story ideas in person (because I'm terrible at storytelling unless I'm recounting something I saw)
-Talk about my boyfriend with my parents (they didn't have a positive opinion of him for a good while in the beginning, I'm still not completely convinced they're comfortable with me being with another guy, and my mother in particular has asked some pretty personal questions about us in the past. "You use condoms, right?" was a favorite)
-Watch anime in my own house (For about the same reasons as the OP. It seems people always walk in when something fan service-y happens)

Course. Lemme think of some examples.

-Openly discuss or show anyone my creative stuff (story dribbles, drawings)
-Listen to certain music without headphones, in fear of anyone thinking shit like 'they're such a hipster' or 'they have bad taste in (genre)'.
-watch certain videos or play certain games without headphones, because I will always find I started watching or playing right at a fanservice-y bit or musical moment.

I used to embarrassed to undress in front of a girl but time went on and I've managed to get rid of that phobia (that and now I finally have a body that I think I can show without embarrassment :)
Aside from that, I don't think so. A long time ago, I've discovered that I don't really care about being perceived as a "normal" person or making a fool of myself in public so I don't really have mental problems with doing things others might consider (to put it lightly) eccentric.
I guess that I do have 1 or 2 disgusting stories/events from my life that if I were to tell someone, that someone very likely wouldn't want to associate with me. Then again, I'm willing to bet that everyone has a story like that. It's not even that it's embarrassing for you to tell it. It's just that if even you yourself find it disgusting, why would you want to recall it or even go as far as make others listen to it?
