It's not really racist, I'm sure they'd censor Animé and Manga if it came from other countries as well.

What are you talking about? Countries should be allowed to change content for their cultures needs if it was created elsewhere, who gives a shit anyway, its not as if anyone cares about age ratings.

Not only is that not racist by any sane definition, but it's in Australia, where racism is a punchline.

Yeah, I think the expression in the avatar tells us all we need to know.
Racism has to be motivated by race not just changing things to culturally acceptable standards. I hate censorship too and I think it's weird as hell to go out of the way to remove all elements of Japanese culture from anime, like flipping shots in Sailor Moon so that they're driving on the right side of the road. Or insisting that the sweet bean buns be called 'cupcakes'. Perving over little girls is another matter. If you want to say that it's racist to remove that from the show, then it seems like you're making a link between race and perving little girls. Anime doesn't need to be protected and anyone who wants to see the real show can just buy or rent a DVD.

Countries that are selling anime make me more annoyed with the fact that it takes about half a year after an American release on DVD to make it to the UK, that is IF it ever does. How long does it take to change a region? Who the hell even made regions? and for what more purpose that trying to annoy people? Also that you can watch a version editted for TV where it has translated japanese writing and subtitles, whereas even if you're watching the english dubbed version you cant see that on the DVD so you end up confused not knowing a crucial point.

There just aren't enough people who are willing to pay for mangas in the western world. In Europe there hardly are any marvel or DC comics. That's not because we are racist but because there aren't enough people who would buy them.

Its not personal, it's just business.

In my opinion censoring Japanese anime and manga to fit with Western mores isn't just a freedom of speech issue - it's also a kind of institutionalised racism that robs the creators of their cultural integrity.

This is what I think is wrong with Western censorship American companies impose on anime licensing - and for example what Australia does to anime like Azumanga Daioh - rated MA15+ for one episode where Kimura is pervy about schoolgirls whereas the rest is family friendly. It's racist in my opinion to enforce Aussie morals on Japanese anime creators in cases like that. It's like Australia sometimes wants to deny that sort of stuff happens in the world.
Mind you, Yahtzee already threw a stone at the Australian Censorship in his L4D2/NSMB Wii-review.

OT:

I can't say much since I'm not from Australia, but you can see the companies as people who live next to a hideous-looking but friendly alien creature: They fear what they don't understand.

Sending them a letter explaining your complaint might help a bit.
