Oh god, that's hilarious xD
Good job, sir.
OT; Square Enix created Final Fantasy to be the last game they developed, yet, we are on 13 now? Can't they just let the series die and create a new game?
Please, both of you, do the world a service and die in a fire.

OT: I think this actually makes more sense. There's fans of all kinds of different games on both sides of the pond.
What? That's what most Japanese games are; an attempt to create something that is an anime, that you can play. Kingdom Hearts even admitted that it wanted to be a cartoon. The only Japanese game that didn't seem to try this is Shadow of the Colossus and Ico (Which were really good).
What about MGS1? That was a Japanese game, and it is nothing like an anime.

He's primarily referring to Squeenix, and the games that they created, methinks.

Edit: But of course, you are correct. There are many Japanese-developed titles that play out nothing like animes.

Squeenix, that's hilarious! Thanks for the reply, he is probably referring to that company.

American Market = "Standards" and "Morality"

Japanese Market = Anything goes. And we mean anything. Except nukes, we haven't gotten over that yet.[/quote]standards and morality
morality? so condemned,GTA,prototype
i agree that the standards of the western market is much higher than the japanese market but only by one step and judging the Japanese market by what you consider to be morally correct and in good taste may be disgusting and despicable to them but i will admit some of their hentai games are a bit extreme but they were not meant for the western audience in the first place
And the matter of dumbing down there games realy the only people who would think this are the weeaboos and wapanese that love japanese popculture so much that everthing from the country is shining gold and it should'nt be ruined by letting

Oh wow, I never though international market excludes the European one, I must go rewrite my definitions. 8D -Is sick of people ignoring the European games market-

Hmmm, that is kinda cool with the Last Guardian, but the game is probably gonna sell well in both countries, me thinks. Also, I don't see how there "dumbing down" games just for the Western Market, I shift in the structure doesn't mean they make it easier.

I thought the difference between JRPGs and WRPGS was in WRPGs you use guns and your a macho man, in JRPGs you use car sized sords and you play a 13 year old girl.
What? In WRPGs, you leave guns to the wussies and the futurists. You play a macho man or a lady in a chainmail bikini and you pick up an axe. Then use it. Dwarven sidekick optional, but recommended. There best be dragons and shit up in this house. Aw Yeah.

Right, my bad. I just have a hard time keeping up with those numbers and which game is which.

In that case, where the hell do Dragon Age and Elder Scrolls fit?

Now, I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure that XIV isn't a number... isn't it XIII?

On topic: sounds very non-condescending on Square-Enix. I admire them for that.

They're hanging out in the same place as Baten Kaitos and Tales of Symphonia, in the "Where did those stereotypes come from?" area.

In fact, no... I played a rogue female dwarf with dual SWORDS in one, and a thin Elvish illusion mage in the other.

Wanna play the games before generalizing?

I thank lordlee, Amnestic, and NeutralDrow for dealing with the usual "Japanese games suck" people.

Also, I agree with what Square Enix said, I always noted that their games seem to do quite well here. There isn't a need to appeal to the west, they already have.

Anyone that can hold two swords and swing them with force consistantly is strong.

And i think your taking this too seriosly, IT WAS A JOKE.

And for your information i have played the Elder Scrolls games, both Morrowind (for a short period of time at a friends house however) and Oblivion (for more then 50 hours). Dragon Age i have yet to get for i dont have a gaming PC.

Now let me state this again, IT WAS A DAMNED JOKE.
