True Grit, Red Dead Redemption, The Warrior's Way, Cowboys and Aliens, and the style of
Fallout: New Vegas.
What do these things have in common?
They're westerns.
They may not be traditional John Wayne or Clint Eastwood films, but they're Westerns none the less. Warrior's Way? Adds samurai and ninjas. Cowboys and Aliens? Pretty self explanatory.
I see this as a sign that Westerns are beginning to return, but in a different form. People want more from movies, and reviving 80s franchises isn't doing it anymore. I think that in the next few years, we'll see a huge influx of new Westerns- whether they're remakes or new IP, there's definitely a pattern.
Has anyone else noticed this?
PS: Sorry for the last couple of crappy threads. I've been stuck at home due to the snow, and my judgment was impeded.
