I'd consider it quite unfair to compare it to WAR, seeing as they're published by different companies, and created by different developers. WAR is by no means a bad game, but it ran out of money, as do most MMO's.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to this. I love WH40K, and I've got a positive disposition towards MMO's.

All shall be crushed before the might of the machine god. Atleast i hope i can play Tech-(whatever rank). They deserve some screen time.

I still don't know enough about the mechanics and control styles to make any predictions. I have my hopes and I'm really looking forward to it, but I also have my doubts about Vigil.

Oh, and... DEATH TO THE FALSE EMPEROR!

I'm excited, and I've just started playing the Dawn of War games recently when I bought the THQ pack on Steam. It's been a while since I quit WoW, and it'll be nice to play another MMO...well atleast until the release of SW:TOR

The screenshots Void(null) posted really do look great.

The Dark Mechanicus is better than your boring regular Mechanicus. After all, they inveted the Kai Gun, a gun that shoots hate. I'll say that again, A GUN THAT SHOOTS LETHAL BOLTS OF CONCENTRATED HATE.

But can we then agree that these two stories have been untold for too long?

Or will it die off as quickly as Warhammer Online?
Am I the only one who likes Warhammer Online?
I liked the time I spent with it. The PvP at least. The PvE outside of public quests was painfully average.

And it's far from dead, it's still chugging along just fine. But I guess any MMO without near infinite numbers of subscribers is a failure.

Hell yes. One of the great things about Dark Heresy is Techpriest is one of the character classes. I played as one once who secretly committed the heresy that is invention.

I'm a massive W40k fluff nerd and am looking forward to this game, but I fear it might go the way of the dodo all too soon because by the time it comes out it'll (presumably) have not one, but two gargantuan MMOs to contend with.

Probably at some point, just like the necrons probably will as well. As antagonists though, not player characters.

It wont be out till at least 2013 apparantly. It also has the 40k name to pull in players.

I want to play this game so very very badly, and yet I probably won't, because it's going to have monthly fees. Unless it doesn't, which would be awesome - I'm not going to hold my breath on that count though.

We will fight for the greater good.
I'll play as Tau. (if possible)

Space marines my ass, they're a bunch of delusional religious fanatics. Who would want to be something like that??? xD

Interesting, has potential. The 40k universe is fun place to have an RPG in (my friends and I were 40k tabletop players, but have migrated to playing Dark Heresy instead.)

Imperial Guard all the way!

I'm looking forward to it, mostly because I'm a bit of a 40k nerd. I am convinced that PVP, if there is any (and there has to be, since after all in the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war) will be hilariously one-sided since everybody will want to be a Space Marine.
WRONG! WAAAGH DA ORKS!

all im hoping is that they do the payment stuff like guildwars did it. im a SO not paying monthly amounts, but buying once and then playing would rock XD

Especially when embracing the dark gods is an option. With Chaos your religious fanaticism gets results! Or it can get you turned into a pile of dust permanently sealed in a suit of armor.

Apparently the (initial) four races that will be avaiable at launch are:
Space Marines
Eldar
Chaos
Orks

Yes, I know there's Imperial Guard in the trailer. No, I don't know what's up with that...

I hope the game survives long enough for them to add Necrons one day. Playable Necrons. With Pariahs and Crypt Stalkers. And an awakened Monolith somewhere. I will cry tears of joy.

Then I guess I'll have no other choice than to play Eldar. I hate religious fanatics (see Space Marines and Chaos) and Orks are just a big bunch of stupid green dudes that likes to fight. Eldars... Well, at least they have some finesse :D
